Job Duties and Responsibilities

EchoStar is seeking a skilled and results-oriented Senior Data Scientist to lead the development and deployment of enterprise-scale machine learning (ML) and deep learning solutions. In this critical role, you will work closely with data engineers, analysts, and ML engineers to create impactful AI models that enhance automation, optimization, and decision intelligence across the organization. This position calls for hands-on technical depth in ML, strong statistical foundations, and a sharp ability to translate business problems into scalable AI solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, train, and deploy ML and deep learning models for business applications
  • Build scalable pipelines for model training, validation, deployment, and monitoring
  • Analyze large, complex datasets to deliver actionable insights and recommendations
  • Develop modular APIs and tools to integrate models into enterprise platforms
  • Partner with teams to define use cases and translate business problems to ML solutions
  • Apply testing, benchmarking, and monitoring to ensure robust model performance
  • Use Git, GitLab CI/CD, Docker, and Terraform for ML lifecycle automation
  • Document models, processes, and ensure reproducibility and governance
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to AI/ML strategy and roadmap

Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in ML, deep learning, or AI development in production settings
  • Strong record of delivering business value via applied statistical and ML methods

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong Python skills; proficient in Scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, PyTorch, FastAPI/Flask
  • Skilled in data processing with Pandas, NumPy, SQL, and PySpark
  • Expertise in regression, classification, clustering, forecasting, and model evaluation
  • Experience with DL for vision, NLP, tabular data using TensorFlow/PyTorch
  • Worked with AWS tools: SageMaker, Lambda, S3, EKS, Athena
  • Familiar with CI/CD (GitLab), Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform for ML deployment
  • Knowledge of MLOps, model versioning, monitoring, and lifecycle management
  • Strong communication and teamwork in Agile, cross-functional environments

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $96,250.00/Year - $158,125.00/Year
