- Responsible for maintaining and enhancing the mission critical system of record, Expeditors Transportation Management System (eTMS Export), this export system supports the company’s global operations and migration efforts.
- Responsible for analysis, design, coding and support of solutions that streamline and improve efficiency of our highly transaction-based code base.
- Performs development and testing of data flows, applications, and systems.
- Part of the Agile scrum team which works closely with operationally focused Product Owners and end users. This collaboration drives an understanding of business problems and opportunities.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computational Math, Data Science or related field of study and 8 years of progressive experience in software development and programming.
Applicants must have demonstrated experience with:
1) Requirements gathering and analysis;
2) COBOL systems design and documentation including analysis reports, code change descriptions, code reviews and test results as part of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC);
3) Development and testing of data flows, applications and systems;
4) COBOL programming;
5) One of the following Database environments: IBM DB2 or HP Image;
6) Working on mainframe systems;
7) Agile development methodologies;
8) SDLC phases including deployment to and support of a live production system;
9) Scripting in one language ;
10) Creating and running unit and integration tests, to ensure quality of new code and integration with other applications; and
11) Analyzing system codebase for understanding and impact.
Additional Information
Salary for position: $212,202 per year.
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Candidates must be local or willing to relocate.
