As an Operational Risk Management Lead within the Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR) organization, you will play a pivotal role in the independent second line of defense unit, focusing on proactively identifying operational risks across the Firm. You will support CCOR's mission to excel in risk management by maintaining robust controls, offering guidance and clear direction on key principles, and actively managing compliance, conduct, and operational risks. Your responsibilities include evaluating and identifying deficiencies in control design and execution within the first line's risk & controls framework, integrating and assessing controls, analyzing risk treatment, conducting in-depth topic reviews, and overseeing governance and reporting practices. You will collaborate closely with a diverse range of stakeholders, including senior management, and build credible relationships across technology and control organizations. Additionally, you will oversee Consumer & Community Banking businesses and functions.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Understand specific risk profile as assessed by the business and other controls to identify negative trends or potential control gaps. Identify thematic risk based on key risk/performance indicators.
  • Provide an independent, objective view of the business and/or functional control environment, mitigation strategies and emerging risks.
  • Challenge first line of defense controls and/or escalate and raise issues as appropriate.
  • Assess and aggregate risks across different lines of business and present results to relevant stakeholders in CCOR and the business.
  • Work both independently and as a core team member, engaging line of defense and functional support colleagues across multiple disciplines (i.e. Technology, Compliance, Risk Management, Legal, Controls, etc.), exhibiting strong relationship management and negotiation skills.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • 5+ years of banking or equivalent experience
  • Ability to analyze risk concentration areas and risk profiles through leveraging data from internal and external sources in order to comprehensively assess risk
  • Bachelor's or Legal degree in relevant technical or quantitative fields (e.g. Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Computer Science, etc.) or comparable work experience required
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to successfully communicate and influence management on all levels.
  • Ability to work independently or with limited instruction.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Generative AI.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • Experienced professional with a strong background in operational risk, technology risk, compliance, control, or audit in the Auto Financing area.
  • Technical qualifications including understanding of data analytics, incident management, application testing, quality control, and change and release management
