As a Cinematic Artist specializing in Layout Design you’ll be crafting cinematic moments ranging from traditional film-style cinematics in game, to cinematic events that blend into gameplay.

Responsibilities

  • Working with the Cinematic Lead, Narrative Director, Art Director, and Design Lead you will be crafting high quality cinematic moments, from film-style cut scenes to in-game theatrical moments.
  • Utilizing proprietary tools you’ll be doing camera work, layout set up, coordinating with animation, FX, and lighting teams.
  • Collaborating with Programmers, Tech Art, and other members of the cinematic team you’ll be pushing the pipeline forward on cinematic process and tools.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years experience working with game engines and cinematics.
  • Portfolio demonstrating thorough understanding of composition, staging, camera, line of action, timing, and editing.
  • Strong understanding of technical knowledge as it relates to cinematics.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a technical pipeline needed for cinematic moments in engine.
  • Comfortable working with proprietary tools.
  • Proficient with Maya.
  • Experience working with motion capture.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, taking direction from stakeholders on the needs for the scene.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Pluses 

  • Passion for games and storytelling.
  • Proficient with Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop.
  • Another cinematic skill, either rigging, tools, animation, story-boarding, lighting, etc.
