About the Role

OpenMarket’s offerings in the SaaS (Software as a Service) and CPaaS (Communications Platform as a Service) spaces are advancing at a rapid pace. To successfully bring our new offerings to market, we need to develop a variety of communications to support our internal teams (Sales, Support, Account Management, etc.), and to help tell the OpenMarket story to the marketplace. This role will interact with product managers and those conducting competitive and user research to help shape our positioning and messaging, partner with product managers to ensure readiness for going to market, and collaborate with Marketing and Sales to ensure they have the information they need to attract customers and drive sales.

What You'll Be Doing

In this role you will interact primarily with product managers to develop a variety of communications aimed at educating both internal and external audiences about OpenMarket products and services. 

 

You will play an instrumental role in driving our go-to-market process by:

  • Consolidating information about the competitive landscape. 
  • Working with our UX team to understand the target audience.
  • Writing positioning frameworks and product FAQs. 
  • Helping create well organized and visually appealing presentations. 
  • Contributing to blog articles and overview content for our product documentation. 

By helping our product managers understand the needs of the target market and create the content needed to go to market, you will help drive OpenMarket’s communications across the customer lifecycle. In addition, you will on occasion assist the VP of Product with presentations concerning business development activities. 

What to Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in a communications and/or product management role in a software company.
  • Familiarity with SaaS and enterprise software and services trends. 
  • Experience partnering across functional teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain solutions, provide alternatives, and collaborate with others.
  • Ability to craft a story around a particular product or service, to convey both its value and utility.
  • Ability to communicate with subject matter experts and understand the technology they are developing, its intended use, and how it fits into OM’s overall offering.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google equivalents.
  • Adept at using the web to research and follow industry trends, and make connections to OM products and services.
  • An interest and acumen for technology. 

Nice to Have

  • Product management and/or Product Marketing experience.
  • Mobile Messaging, CPaaS, Digital Customer Service, or Digital Marketing experience.

Education/Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, Marketing, Communications or equivalent experience required.

Location

Our company is in the Lower Queen Anne area with a beautiful view of Elliott Bay. The office is a short distance to a variety of restaurants/shops.
