The Role


Content Design is having its moment at Outreach. The company is the leader in the “Sales Engagement" industry and its mission is to modernize and scale the sales process. As an integral part of this mission, we’re building a Content Design team from the ground up to help ensure our platform remains consistent, compelling, and unique.


As a Principal Content Designer, you’ll help us build powerful, scalable, and human tools to improve the workflows of sales teams and professionals. You’ll be a highly sought-after thought leader who tackles our most complex content-led problems and evangelizes Content Design across the company. Working closely with Product Design, User Research, Product Management, Engineering, and other partners, you’ll ultimately be creating a platform that allows businesses to focus more of their energy and time on their customers.

Your Daily Adventures Will Include:

  • Partnering with a strong, fast-moving product team of designers, researchers, product managers, engineers, and other internal teams
  • Establishing the content strategy for a given area, ensuring consistency across features and products
  • Writing clear, concise, and compelling copy across multiple touch points (including UI elements, education, emails, notifications, NUXs, and more)
  • Building out messaging frameworks, competitive audits, and other content strategy deliverables to defend rationale for project work and further educate the rest of the team about Content Design 
  • Evangelizing the Content Design function across the company. This includes contributing to the voice and tone of the platform and providing a content strategy perspective during visioning exercises, product development, and other strategic decision-making.
  • Working with cross-functional peers to align on product goals and deliverables, and helps the team strike the right balance between business goals, user goals, and the user experience
  • Regularly sharing work and gathers feedback on copy and content strategy, and providing actionable feedback in turn for other writers
  • Mentoring other Content Designers and writers at the company, and getting involved with interviewing and onboarding of new team members

Basic Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as a Content Designer, Content Strategist, or related roles involving writing product copy for web/mobile interfaces
  • Outstanding writing, editing, and content strategy skills
  • Similarly excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of common design patterns and UX principles 
  • Proven experience on content-led projects and other highly-complex product work
  • Ability to successfully collaborative in a fast-paced environment Passion for Content Design and for building products with amazing people
  • Portfolio of writing samples
