About Us:

Right now, even though STEM skills are increasingly important, over 60% of students in Kindergarten through 8th grade are not proficient in math at their own grade-level. The pandemic has increased the opportunity gap for our most vulnerable students. As a society, we need to bring together our best, most creative minds to tackle this critical problem and ensure all kids are successful in math and school and have the tools they need to reach their potential. This includes developing the most innovative learning technology using advanced data science in a way that inspires students and empowers teachers. Come help us make a difference at DreamBox Learning.

We’re passionate about our mission to radically transform the way the world learns. Today, our Intelligent Adaptive Learning platform – with its rigorous math curriculum and game-based environment – is helping 5 million kids and over 150,000 educators improve math achievement and build a love of math at the same time. In the wake of COVID-19, and the broad range of learning experiences: in-person, all virtual and hybrid models, we are uniquely positioned to bring our best-in-class adaptive learning platform to more students and provide Educators and Parents with insights into their student’s learning.

About the Role:

As a Senior Artist at DreamBox Learning, you will work with a team of Artists, Visual UI Designers, UX Designers, Curriculum Designers (teachers), and Software Engineers to create engaging and visually stunning “virtual tools” and engaging experiences that teach math to millions of students from Kindergarten to 8th grade. This process involves working with product teams to gain a deep understanding of our users to transform complex math concepts into beautiful, easy-to-use, and intuitive experiences that work for all ages.

This role requires the flexibility to create gorgeous concept and production-ready artwork and UI art assets in a variety of different styles based on the target audience—from cartoony to stylized realism to clean minimalist--within a game or similar software development environment. The role also requires an aptitude for problem-solving technical art challenges and an understanding of how to create beautiful, interactive visuals within the technical constraints of web-based software and touchscreen devices.

In this senior role, you are expected to support the Art Director in championing best practices and setting a high bar in the visual graphics for the student experience. You will have a strong eye for what makes good art and design and can execute on these principles in the form of concept art, 2D/3D illustrations, and art assets. You will also help maintain and evolve art style guides and mentor other Artists. Our work environment is fast-paced and highly collaborative: excellent cross-discipline communication and presentation skills and attention to detail are a must! This role will report to our Senior Art Director in Bellevue, WA.
