    Senior Content Manager

     

    Expedia Group is looking for a talented content strategist to drive partner acquisition, retention, growth, and preference through engaging content. As the senior content manager, you'll report to the creative director and lead the editorial direction for the Expedia Group supply line of business. You will shape, synthesize, and ultimately drive the team to deliver content that builds a consistent and positive brand perception that drives preference. You'll lead the voice and manage the writing team consisting of employees and freelancers. You will partner with stakeholders across the business to implement standards and practices to evolve Expedia Group’s voice and brand communications. As a content player/coach, you will be a digital copywriting pro and will transform complex information into engaging experiences. 

    What you'll do:

    • Manage and evolve verbal language to ensure the overall voice and messaging are industry-relevant and drives preference

    • Lead the creation of consistent narrative storytelling content in all customer-facing environments

    • Manage the internal and external writing teams, driving a culture of collaboration

    • Partner with marketing and business leaders to articulate Expedia Group’s supply strategic goals around communications, product and segments

    • Partner with regional marketing and design teams to understand the full set of customer messages and needs

    • Content Strategy and Creation – From reports, white papers, articles and customer stories to landing pages and email, you’ll ideate, write and edit compelling content for our global audiences, and you’ll optimize distribution channels to increase engagement and conversion

    • Drive adoption and deeper engagement of key Expedia Group offers, products, and programs 

    • Represent key concepts and writing work internally to leadership and assume accountability for the delivery of high performing, brand-aligned communications

    • Research and maintain knowledge of emerging design and culture themes and industry trends

    • Serve as the expert on a consistent global brand voice

    • Train and develop direct reports, estimate personnel needs, assign work, meet completion dates, and interpret and ensure the consistent application of our brand identity 

    • Understand the digital marketing landscape and design best practices for all manner of digital campaigns and communications

    • Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives

     
    Who you are:

    • A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field

    • 6+ years of experience in a related creative role

    • 3+ years of management or project leadership experience

    • Proven strong written and visual expertise 

    • An understanding of editorial standards and practices that create the foundation of consistent voice

    • An intimate understanding of design, copy, and web best practices/guidelines

    • A strong understanding of brand development and multichannel marketing concepts

    • Fluent in content marketing funnel, distribution and measurement 

    • Strong knowledge of the current and emerging B2B content marketing landscape as well as a vast understanding of effective digital and social strategies and tactics (SEO, social media, organic, earned, and paid experience) 

    • The ability to lead, coach, and manage an extended team of editorial and writing talent

    • Outstanding written/verbal communication skills and the ability to present complex concepts concisely to a variety of audiences, including the highest level of the organization

    • An ability to manage up, down; and communicate information, ideas, procedures, and processes at a level appropriate to the audience

    • The ability to collaborate and to teach, coach, monitor, and influence key stakeholders at various levels of the organization  

    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to easily make connections among previously unrelated notions

    • The ability to investigate and analyze complex data and generate new ideas and solutions to resolve problems quickly and efficiently

    • An expert ability to think strategically and execute tactically

    • The ability to use a broad business acumen and holistic perspective to see the opportunities and risks of potential trade-offs

    • Proven ability to effectively focus resources to implement a business strategy, generate excitement and commitment around the vision and goals, and drive innovation and change

    • Experience with change management principles and the ability to drive and manage the change process from strategic planning through implementation and follow-through

    • Excellent coaching, mentoring, and people development skills

    • A creative mindset and bias for action: You jump right into projects with both feet and are comfortable taking the lead without a lot of guidance 

    • A great attitude: Your calm demeanor and relentless positivity inspire those around you
