The Position:

Trupanion is seeking an experienced marketing and communications professional to lead its marketing services department. This role will continue the acceleration of Trupanion's leading self-titled product as well as support the development and launch of new products across the pet space to become a leading international player within animal health.

The Senior Director of Creative and Content Services will lead the execution of marketing support including:

  • Key marketing account management support for internal business units
  • Recommendation of performance marketing strategy by business unit
  • Concept development of integrated marketing campaigns in support of goals as outlined by business owners
  • Oversight of content and communications tools
  • Direction and oversight of core brand creative assets (including brand guidelines, photography, and web/digital assets)
  • Leading senior players within the content, communications, and creative and eCommerce teams

This position will build and lead a team of marketing professionals, who will be accountable for delivering programs that will maximize the growth of their respective internal partners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of the development of concepts and initiatives to help support the brand and associated products.
  • Partnership with business unit leaders to promote the value of the internal agency team to accomplish mutual goals for success.
  • Direction of vet-centric content and creative output to help lead the Trupanion brand within the animal health space.
  • Proactive recommendation of paid media campaigns and the development of integrated tactics appropriate to business needs.
  • Development of a disciplined model for agency performance aligned to an allowable pet acquisition cost framework working with key business partners to maximize levers for increasing internal rates of return.
  • Analyze and interpret data, identify trends, and generally use data to support business decisions.
  • Development of full agency team to ensure leading output and program delivery that warrants increased investment from business leaders.

This position is for a highly energetic, growth-minded individual, with a deep understanding, respect, and appreciation of the veterinary profession and the needs of the pet owners they serve. The top candidate is adept at crafting efficient plans and delivering results to support markets and products at varying maturity levels and have a passion for hard work and driving results.

A successful candidate has experience in running large, multi-disciplined communications, marketing, content, or creative teams and has an appetite for fast-paced workflow with a diverse client base. They are adept at problem-solving and developing trusted relationships with their internal clients where success will be each business unit hitting their individual goals.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of marketing and or content/creative leadership experience
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with a proven track record of success
  • D2C and B2B marketing support
  • Experience using data and analytics to make decisions.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivation with a clear bias for action, leadership, and teambuilding
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and campaigns (on and offline)
  • Extensive experience with budgetary control and management
  • A phenomenal teammate and demonstrated leader and team mentor.
