WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Work directly with engineering, product and design teams to create API documentation, step-by-step guides and training material that enables the team to onboard new customers in a seamless manner
  • Be one of the first to try new features as you work with engineering, product and design to improve the related user experience, UI text, error messages, and API design
  • Interact directly with customers and use their feedback to improve the documentation and training material, with the goal of moving us towards a completely hands-off customer onboarding experience
  • Create the right KPIs to measure the success of documentation and training material

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of technical writing experience in a tech/SaaS environment
  • Proven track-record planning and delivering B2B and B2C documentation for PaaS and SaaS products
  • Experience working directly with engineering teams on products built for a technical audience, such as developers, DevOps, IT professionals etc.
  • End-to-end experience with all aspects of user documentation lifecycle (create, manage, publish, measure effectiveness and iteratively improve to reach desirable outcome).
  • Comfortable with executing in a dynamic environment, ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously and multi-task.
  • Extensive experience in best practices for creating user documentation and training material - what approaches work and which do not.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree or certification in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience
  • Experience in XML-based authoring system, cloud services, Git and REST APIs
  • Domain knowledge (or a deep curiosity and motivated interest to learn) in financial services in general and in the mortgage industry in particular is highly valuable
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating relevant past work experience and deliverables will give you an edge
  • A strong understanding of software product design
  • Video production experience to independently create training material
  • Experience working at fast-paced start-ups
