About the Role:

RealSelf’s Content Team seeks a creative, driven, and resourceful SEO Content Writer who loves researching, expanding, and SEO optimizing a wide variety of consumer-friendly informational content—and has a passion for beauty.

The successful candidate will refine best-in-class, SEO-friendly content about plastic surgery and aesthetic treatments, including procedure guides, cost information, safety guides, and blog stories. Their goal is to help consumers discover RealSelf, find expert answers, and make confident decisions.

The ideal candidate is endlessly curious and knowledgeable about the beauty industry and SEO content best practices. Because RealSelf’s mission is to help millions of people make smart, confident decisions about cosmetic procedures and providers, they must also be driven to make our content better than our competitors and outrank them in search results, so more people benefit from our unbiased information.

In this role, you will:

• Write and SEO optimize consumer-friendly, medically accurate, and engaging content about plastic surgery and noninvasive cosmetic procedures.
• Demonstrate a solid and growing understanding of SEO content strategy, testing, and optimization tactics, artfully balancing search engine requirements with brand voice and the overriding need to build and retain consumer trust.
• Identify credible clinical study results and simplify these findings for a consumer audience. 
• Build content authority with insights from doctors, dermatologists, and other medical experts.
• Use outstanding organization, time management, collaboration, and problem-solving skills and consistently meet short and long-term deadlines.
• Multitask and navigate through ambiguity and real-time pivots to deliver accurate, consumer-friendly, and SEO-friendly content 
• Adhere to the RealSelf voice and style, helping bring our brand voice to life.
• Self-manage day-to-day projects.

You might be the right fit if you have: 

• 3+ years of experience implementing SEO best practices to drive meaningful SERP rank and organic traffic improvements
• 5+ years of experience in online content marketing or other long-form writing for a consumer audience, ideally about beauty and/or medicine
• Deep familiarity with SEO tools like SEMRush or Moz, as well as Google Analytics or a similar performance reporting tool
• Exceptional communication, writing, and editing abilities 
• A demonstrated ability to bring a brand voice to life in your content

A writing test with a focus on SEO may be required.
