About Us

At South Geeks, we engage top-performing Software Engineers, Security Experts, and Data Analysts from Latin America to join our clients’ teams worldwide. For over 8 years, we’ve been helping future-shaping companies scale faster by curating world-class tech talent and building long-lasting, strategic partnerships. We pride ourselves on a people-centered culture that powers innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

About the Client

Our client is a global technology company that relies on modern data infrastructure to power business intelligence, financial operations, and customer-facing applications at scale. Their teams are leveraging the latest data tools to streamline workflows, improve operational efficiency, and deliver insights that directly drive business growth. To support these goals, they are seeking a DBT Data Engineer with experience in Hightouch to strengthen their data pipelines and reverse ETL workflows.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and proactive DBT Data Engineer with Hightouch expertise to join the data engineering team. In this role, you’ll design and maintain scalable data transformation pipelines, build reverse ETL syncs to operational systems, and ensure data models are optimized for performance and reliability. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver data solutions that meet business needs and enable timely, data-driven decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Pipeline Development & Management: Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines using DBT, optimizing for performance and reliability.

  • Data Integration & Sync Management: Implement and manage Hightouch syncs to deliver data from warehouse to business tools (e.g., NetSuite, Tableau), monitoring reliability and resolving issues proactively.

  • Data Modeling & SQL Optimization: Develop and optimize SQL queries, schemas, and models to support reporting and analytics while ensuring consistency and maintainability.

  • System Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Configure monitoring and alerting systems, troubleshoot replication or performance issues, and recommend system enhancements.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, estimate development efforts, and deliver accurate and timely data solutions.

  • Understanding of accounting principles: knowledge of the fundamental rules, standards, and concepts that guide how financial transactions are recorded, reported, and interpreted.

  • Documentation & Best Practices: Maintain technical documentation (data flow diagrams, dictionaries, process docs) to support transparency and knowledge sharing.

What You Need to Succeed in This Role
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or related fields.

  • Strong SQL expertise with ability to write complex, multi-layer transformations.

  • Hands-on experience with DBT (Cloud or Core).

  • Mandatory experience with Hightouch for reverse ETL workflows.

  • Familiarity with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).

  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, normalization).

  • Working knowledge of Python (other programming languages a plus).

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Our Team

We strive to create an inspiring and growth-oriented environment where everyone feels valued, heard, and empowered. We promote both personal and professional development, with individualized support for your needs and concerns. We aim to build a space where everyone can thrive.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
