We: The Predictive Analytics team within USCMO is chartered with enabling the marketing programs with world class analytics and reporting. We support all business-to-business direct marketing efforts in the US subsidiary across all business groups, directed at all account segments, from Small Business to Enterprise in both commercial and public sector. Our work not only improves returns on marketing investment but also builds a strategic competitive advantage for Microsoft. The team has a high visibility and its effort is directly linked to key marketing decisions made by marketing leadership teams to drive best possible outcomes.

 

The successful candidate for this role will have experience analyzing data from a wide range of datasets and across a breadth of marketing and sales platforms. They have strong analytical and presentation skills, technical aptitude and a collaborative work style. We are looking for people who see challenges as opportunities, who can look at complex problems and are able to provide actionable insights and informed decisions.

Responsibilities

 

As an Analytics Manager on our Predictive Analytics team, you would be responsible for:

 

  • Data preparation, statistics, and machine learning to investigate problems with the goal of improving marketing impact on opportunities and drive revenue.
  • Using your creative thinking skills to think big and with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to solve complex problems, mainly on social and events data
  • Manipulating data using various analytical programming languages and frameworks: HD Insights/DataBricks/Hadoop, SCOPE/U-SQL, R, Python.
  • Using and promoting data-exploration techniques to discover new or previously unasked questions.
  • Influencing stakeholders to make product improvements that yield business value by effectively making compelling cases through story-telling, visualizations, and other influencing tools.
  • Reviewing observations and recommendations with executive teams to challenge assumed hypothesis and improve processes.

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with Python and R is required.
  • 5+ years of experience analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources using a variety of tools and data analysis techniques is required.
  • Ability to understand and translate business and product questions into analytics projects
  • Ability to articulate vision, requirements, and benefits to business and technology partners.
  • Ability and technical aptitude to create observations and build models to predict and recommend business outcomes.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required, with preference given to a Quantitative (Statistics, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Data Science), MS or PhD preferred.
