We are very happy to announce that we have officially re-opened our Ballard HQ office for voluntary use! It's excellent to be seeing people in person and have the buzz going again. In order to maintain safety, comfort and flexibility, we currently offer most employees the choice between 3 work locations: HQ-first, Hybrid or Remote; if there are specific location needs, the job description will indicate that below. It is also important to note that we are only able to hire employees who are eligible to work and are based in the US.

We look forward to having you apply to join our team of Knockstars!

The Role

We are seeking a dynamic Business Analyst who knows how to ship great products and deliver exceptional value to customers. Knock’s mission is to empower operators to drive success through an intelligent, connected, and comprehensive front-office SaaS platform built to optimize the complete renter lifecycle.

This role supports product discovery & research alongside our more senior Product Managers. You will be supporting our flagship product, Knock CRM - our award winning, industry-leading sales enablement product. You will be building new products for our Marketing Automation, Leasing Management and Admin Applications that are centered on data science and automation. You will help the Product teams strike the ideal balance between automated and human sales functionality. You will strive to automate anything that is simple and repetitive, and give our customers their time back to perform more high-value activities that can grow their business.

The B2B2C products you build provide millions of renters every month a smooth and automated experience through the entire renting journey. Our B2B products help thousands of Property Managers and Leasing Agents per day handle high volumes of interested renters while also helping them best highlight differentiators for their properties while building rapport with renters.

The Team

The Product and Engineering teams together consist of exceptional and passionate team members, working to make Knock the premier software product in the Multifamily industry. Our product covers a large surface - powering marketing automation, omni-channel communications, AI bots, sales and renewal CRM, agent and self-guided touring, renter screening, sophisticated business intelligence capabilities, and much more. We follow an agile development process, and lean heavily on standard methodologies around Lean Canvas, PR FAQ’s, PRD, UX research and usability testing, SDLC, etc. all to ensure we are optimizing product fit and execution.

Your Product team’s efforts are pivotal to Knock’s success and you will be in a critical new role at Knock with a unique opportunity to grow as you drive business and customer outcomes as we continue to grow and scale quickly. We’re looking for a great Business Analyst to realize their full potential, and build the future of real estate technology.

Day to Day

  • You will develop a deep understanding of our current product, its systems, and how to focus on our customers' pains and potential gains.
  • Research. You will partner with Product Managers and Designers to gather feedback and intelligence from a number of sources to inform product opportunities, including customer feedback, prototype experimentation, product usage/adoption and our system design.
  • Work closely with Product Managers to organize ideas into actionable product backlogs.
  • Distill customer business problems into user stories that are consumable within a sprint by an Agile team with clear requirements, use cases and acceptance criteria.
  • You ask questions, gather feedback, and distill all of the noise into clear priorities with a winning strategy.
  • Assist Product Managers on requirements verification and validation with acceptance criteria for each feature.
  • You will utilize data to inform priorities and product decisions. From UX research, to market sizing, to product utilization (Heap + more), you are able to effectively answer business questions within a data driven approach.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and priorities.
  • This role is 100% remote, working with distributed teams. There will be some travel, potentially quarterly, for in-person, strategic Product Management team sessions.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner
  • You have end-user interview experience digging into the root cause.
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions about technology decisions and strategy related to a product.
  • Knowledge of the full PDLC, SDLC, and experience in an Agile environment.
  • You’ve shipped products with complex requirements and dependencies.
  • Strong communication skills with high attention to detail - demonstrated experience gathering product requirements and translating them into precise functional requirements through diagrams, user stories, use cases and acceptance criteria.
  • You use data - whether its research, measuring usage, or how data is an asset - you are comfortable incorporating data into the way you work.

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • You'll join a category-creating company that has enthusiastic customers, an ambitious roadmap, and industry leading products.
  • You are comfortable taking risks and thinking outside the box.
  • Being part of a great team with solid infrastructure in place.
  • You want an opportunity to win, drive change and be in an environment that will optimize for your success.
  • You embrace our set of core values - determination, excellence, trust, and community.
  • Competitive cash and equity compensation.
  • 100% medical, dental, and vision coverage for full-time employees. Partial family coverage optional.
  • Flexible time off & paid holidays.
  • Parental leave program.
  • 401k with a match program to help you save for the future.
  • Learning & Development assistance.
  • We like to do fun things together (Virtual for now!) such as conferences, off site retreats, and happy hours.
  • #LI-REMOTE

About Knock

We started Knock to solve problems we faced ourselves. One of those problems was that the process for renting an apartment hadn’t evolved at the same pace as technology. Our mission was to improve the experience for both apartment renters and managers.

We’ve developed an industry-defining SaaS platform, an intelligent front office platform providing the efficiency and business intelligence tools needed to maximize occupancy, rent growth, and customer happiness at every community. Our customers trust us to deliver the consumer experiences and business applications that are essential to their bottom line. The proof is in our 10x revenue growth over the past two years, in addition to our numerous industry awards.

In February 2021 we raised an additional $20 million in a growth funding round led by Fifth Wall, the largest venture capital firm passionate about the global real estate industry and the clear leader in PropTech investing. This investment, our largest fundraise to date, will be invested directly into further innovation on behalf of the incredible #multifamily industry: http://bit.ly/knock-5thwall
