We are seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Workforce Motivation Product Squad which drives the mission behind finding the motivational factors for users of all types throughout their career at Assurance IQ on the function of reward, effort, and performance systems.


This role is specifically focused on driving a world-class compensation system.


What does that look like?


(1) Compensation systems designed to align incentives more consistently across the lines of business and user types.


(2) Compensation structures that are simplified for Agents to understand and for Assurance to deliver on consistently and reliably.


(3) Incentive mechanisms which we maneuver to achieve the perfected balance of intrinsic and extrinsic motivators.


This role sits predominantly at the intersection between workforce Users (e.g. agents), Product, Engineering, Data Science, Finance, and Operations support. You will be reporting to the Senior Product Manager of the Product Squad.

Ideal Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience working at a finance or technology company in an analytical function, whether it be in a startup, consultancy, or corporate.
  • Expert proficiency in SQL.
  • Experience with business intelligence or data visualization tool (e.g. Looker, Tableau, DOMO, PowerBI).Proven track record of identifying, sizing, and solving ambiguous data issues.
  • Experience working in a support organization or for organizations known for stellar customer support.
  • Experience with CRM platforms such as Jira, Zendesk, Salesforce, or Intercom.
  • Experience interpreting and presenting data to various audiences.
  • Degree in business, economics, finance or any science-related fields (Note: we’ve seen superior individuals without degrees so don’t hesitate to try).

Responsibilities

  • Dig into the data, learn what is and isn’t working, and take ownership in determining which projects to focus on - and set aggressive timelines to reach those goals.
  • Supporting Data Engineering in the design and maintenance of data systems and databases, including troubleshooting potential issues arising from data.
  • Cleaning data in preparation for analysis.
  • Building dashboards and reports for our squad and business' use.
  • Evaluating business processes for efficiency, cost, and other valuable metrics.
  • Work cross-functionally with support, product, engineering, and data science to optimize how we compensate Agents on the platform.
  • Assist in the study, analysis, and processing of information related to the compensation of agents based on their positions and other compensable factors. This is in the form of monetary and non-monetary incentives, extrinsic and intrinsic rewards.
  • Respond to stakeholder needs needs through concise communications, documentation, information sharing, and planning sessions. 
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators and business metrics for agent support.
  • Collaborate with Data Science to build a holistic view of support quality.
  • Resolve a wide range of complex compensation issues – leverage data, rules, procedures, and sound judgment to arrive at solutions to agent appeals and inquiries.

Our Offices 

We have 4 engineering offices worldwide in Seattle (headquarters), Toronto, Ft. Lauderdale, and Kathmandu. Each office has many teams of engineers; each team owns a set of software applications and business functionality. We work collaboratively across time zones and geographies, using Slack, Zoom, Github, and email. Engineers in remote offices will typically visit headquarters once or twice per year.
