How YOU will make a difference:   

As a Business Process Analyst (BPA) at HMA, you will play a key role in cross-departmental initiatives to improve our legacy systems and processes and deliver more efficient and effective ways of working. You will deliver inspired, high-impact business solutions that change how the organization functions on a daily basis.   

  • Evaluate internal needs and business processes, assess appropriate tools and systems to improve processes based on business requirements, make recommendations, and drive the implementation of solutions that are sustainable and repeatable  
  • Serve as the project manager for some improvement efforts and act as a project team member in others; when managing projects, effectively lead project meetings, develop agendas and project plans, communicate progress, and ensure outcomes meet all project goals and expectations  
  • Regularly collaborate with cross-functional team members to turn highly complex, previously unsolved problems into actionable recommendations for change  
  • Develop process maps and workflows; write and update relevant documentation including Standard Operating Procedures and Procedural Work Instructions. Perform structured process mapping sessions of current state business processes to identify opportunities to enhance their efficiency and effectiveness   
  • Quickly develop in-depth knowledge of business processes and their functions in the organization
  • Own the business and technical requirement gathering and documentation processes 
  • Actively participate and support the IT team during solution development 
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing efforts and author test scenarios when needed

Knowledge, Experience and Attributes:  

  • BA/BS or equivalent degree required
  • Minimum 5 years as a Business Analyst working in an Agile environment or operational excellence role
  • Experience in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies; Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and/or operational excellence certification preferred
  • Prior experience with requirements gathering, documentation, and process mapping
  • Advanced computer skills with proficiency  in all MS Office Suite products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint)
  • Strong problem solving, project management, business analysis, presentation, and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal; comfortable and effective in communicating across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Skilled at building relationships and moving projects forward with diverse audiences who have competing priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a complex, fast-paced environment
