The Company You’ll Join

At Carta we create owners and make private markets liquid.

We live in a world where some people live on the equity stack and enjoy exponential wealth growth and preferential tax treatment; others live on the debt stack and may work their entire lives for a company and retire only with the cash they’ve managed to save from their paychecks. Our contribution to solving the wealth inequality problem is moving people from the debt stack (payroll) to the equity stack. By making it as easy to issue equity to employees as it is to put them on payroll, we can create more owners.

At Carta, we are helpful, transparent, fair, and kind. We are relentless executors, unconventional thinkers, and masters of our craft.

The Team You’ll Work With

The Compensation R&D team builds products to help companies pay competitively and fairly. Our team includes engineering, design, product, implementations and subject matter experts. Formed in December 2020, the team has been growing rapidly and will more than double in size by the end of 2021. We are highly collaborative, compassionate, and hardworking and operate like a well-supported, high octane startup. Our flagship product, Carta Total Comp, launched in May and along with it are high ambitions to make a broad impact in the Compensation software space.

The Problems You’ll Solve

We are looking for an experienced compensation professional to work directly with the R&D team to:

  • Collaborate with product, design and engineering teams to develop cutting-edge and innovative compensation products.
  • Synthesize complex compensation concepts into easy-to-use solutions for a broad audience including founders, executives, HR professionals and employees.
  • Advise the data team on an ongoing basis to refine and build compensation benchmark models.
  • Research compensation market trends, and work with the insights team to create topical blog posts to enhance Carta’s brand leadership in the compensation space.
  • Act as a compensation thought partner by working with customers on what methods, philosophies, approaches may work best for their company growth stage.

About You

  • You have experience as a compensation professional at a high-growth company or top compensation consulting firm.
  • Experience with benchmarking data products is required.
  • Experience working with executives on compensation related topics and/or equity administration is a plus.

We’re looking for problem solvers. You’re curious, think through problems from the ground up, and drive execution. You’re able to develop a deep understanding of the Compensation space and the problems our clients face. You’re eager to use that knowledge to build a better product with our R&D team.

We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to providing a positive interview experience for every candidate. If accommodations due to a disability or medical condition are needed, connect with us via email at [email protected]. As a company, we value fairness, helpfulness, transparency, leadership and build our teams around these values.
