Reporting to the Head of Corporate Development, the [Analyst/Associate], Corporate Development plays a crucial role in supporting M&A and inorganic growth initiatives. The right person for this role is a strategic thinker with a passion for originating and executing M&A and partnership opportunities that accelerates growth and delivers value. This highly visible role offers career opportunities and progression in a high-growth environment, as well as exposure to senior leaders in the organization.
This position is suitable for an associate with [3-4] years of experience in a corporate development, investment banking, management consulting, private equity, Big 4 transaction services, or M&A related role, looking to accelerate their career in a high growth environment, or for an experienced, ambitious analyst ready to take the next step.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy. Support the development of corporate strategy with a particular focus on inorganic growth initiatives; partner with key internal leaders to develop strategic investment themes and assess potential acquisition and partnership opportunities; identify product gaps, evaluate build/partner/buy, and collaborate on target identification 
  • Sourcing & Origination. Identify, research and qualify potential M&A and partner targets; maintain, review, socialize pipeline of opportunities with senior leaders
  • End-to-end M&A Deal Execution. Develop valuation model, manage due diligence and integration planning process, organize efforts across large teams, and create deal review presentations for executive leadership 
  • Market intelligence. Track market M&A and partnership activity, competitor news, and customer demand signals
  • Business partnership. Build and maintain relationships internally with colleagues and externally with investment bankers, target management teams, and advisors; help the Head of Corporate Development and other senior leaders achieve strategic objectives
  • Problem solving. Bring financial mindset to complex business problems and collaborate to identify simple, scalable and agile solutions while building consensus

 

  • [3-4] years of relevant work experience in private equity, investment banking, corporate development, management consulting or Big 4 transaction services 
  • Strong financial modeling skills, especially in working with concepts that are not well defined and will evolve
  • Demonstrated experience in valuation using a variety of methods such as comparable company analysis and discounted cash flow. Strong understanding on underlying variables driving valuation and an ability to apply judgement in selecting valuation methods
  • Superior verbal and written communication abilities and comfortable engaging with senior audiences
  • Strong Project Management skills and experience managing cross-functional teams
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
