Job Description
The Role
Are you motivated by turning large quantities of data into value for our customers? Do you want to curate data that drives our products and changes people's lives? We are looking for a self-motivated Data Analyst with a passion for solving analytical problems and communicating nuanced findings to non-technical audiences to be an integral member of our Data Analytics team. As a data driven company, our data is our lifeblood, and we want someone to join us who shares this passion.
What you’ll do
We are responsible for several areas of our business, including data health and wealth, our proprietary compensation model (currently supporting over 5,000 customers and millions of website visitors), business intelligence analytics, and survey design.
Select and analyze subsets of the PayScale database of over 60 million profiles, using our real-time data analysis system.
May develop analytical and statistical approaches to answer business questions, examine data validity, and report on interesting data subjects.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree with significant course work in a quantitative field, such as economics, statistics, econometrics, physical sciences, or applied mathematics.
- 0-2 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience using Python, specifically Pandas.
- Knowledge of SQL.
- An obsession with cleaning, structuring and analyzing data.
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and communication (both written and oral) skills.
- Attention to detail with a good sense of organization and time management.
- Experience answering complex questions quantitatively.
- Able to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced, start-up environment.
