POSITION SUMMARY: 

Are you passionate about using data to deliver insights that drive action and provide those insights in a coherent story using visualization tools? The Data Analyst working in the Data Strategy and Insights team is responsible for understanding how our customers interact, and want to interact with F5 across their journey, and for translating that information into irrefutable business insights. The Data Analyst will partner closely with other analytic teams across the organization including marketing, sales, service and product teams to develop a comprehensive data understanding of our customers and share data insights with business partners.  You will work within the team to develop standard reports and dashboards. 

This position will:

• Design, develop and deliver data solutions including ad hoc analysis and data visualizations
• Using an iterative and practical approach, create operational dashboards that provide bold insights into client behavior and KPIs for business outcomes
• Propose and implement business metrics for senior management reviews and work with analysts and IT to design and develop data solutions to support business growth
• Be comfortable working with incomplete data while creating high confidence-level recommendations
• Collaborates with business partners in acting on complex, multi-source data to explore, generate and test business assumptions
• Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data with a focus on actionable analytics

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Partner with Business stakeholders and Executives with the goal of providing the clarity to make decisions and gain insights through data analysis and visualization
• Own creation and delivery Dashboards.
• Interpret data and set appropriate measurement strategy
• Support ad hoc analytic requests from raw data through presentation quickly, efficiently and accurately
• Recommend scalable reporting solutions to have consistent data at an enterprise level
• Gather requirements, run through iterations of work with the customers to understand their needs, and how to best visualize their data, followed by design, deployment and on-going enhancements
• Work closely with IT, Marketing, Sales Finance, to align metrics and reporting
• Manage relationship with the F5 BI team including managing and prioritizing tickets, providing requirements and feedback and UAT
• Maintain courteous and professional working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization

Required Skills Experience and Qualifications:

• Expert SQL skills with experience in data manipulation using R or Python
• Proficiency in Tableau or other visualization tool.
• Familiar with statistical analysis, along with working knowledge of any programming language.
• Working knowledge of Salesforce.com and familiarity working with data in Snowflake environment a plus
• Basic understanding of ETL and Data Warehousing fundamentals
• Strong analytical skills and experience with reporting and data analysis
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with ability to articulate data analysis simply
• Ability to work independently in a multifaceted fast paced environment, with minimal supervision
• Experience working with data ensuring the ethical and compliant use with global privacy regulations

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table
• Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material
• Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends)
• Duties may require some travel to  F5 and industry events
