Role Description

As an Insights Analyst, you will be part of the Customer Intelligence team which is tasked with encouraging and enabling customer-centric decisions. As an Insights Analyst, you are responsible for building a foundational understanding of our customers’ needs and perceptions and guiding decision-making. By defining, developing, analyzing, interpreting, and leveraging customer metrics, this role supports and advances the company’s customer-centric vision to improve CX from beginning to end.

Your focus will be on providing actionable insights to partners through a deep understanding of consumer behaviors with applied analytics techniques and business insights. This role isn’t just about performing analytics - it’s also about communicating insights to the business, telling a story with data that answers the “why” as well as the “what”.

This is an individual contributor role that requires exceptional analytical skills, bias toward action, strong collaboration and communication skills, and a passion for customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders acting as their point of contact in Customer Intelligence. You will leverage your relationships to become a valued thought partner and SME for data in your area.
  • You will leverage your analytical skills to develop and analyze qualitative and quantitative research and craft clear actionable insights and make recommendations to our stakeholders
  • You will develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and identify opportunities for enhancements. You will drive weekly and monthly KPI reviews with stakeholders to promote operational rigor.
  • You will translate complex concepts into implications for the business via excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • You will partner with stakeholders providing analytical insights to drive strategic projects forward and perform ad hoc analyses on critical business issues
  • You will understand what matters most and prioritize ruthlessly

Requirements

  • Bachelors or above in quantitative discipline: Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 3-5 years experience in a data-centric role
  • Significant experience working with large amounts of data (SQL and Python/R) and a deep understanding of statistical analysis, common quantitative techniques like regression and experiment design
  • Strong analytical and interpretive skills with the ability to distill copious amounts of data (qualitative, quantitative, secondary, etc.) into an insightful story with actionable recommendations
  • Knowledge in quantitative research methodologies (e.g., survey sampling, design and administration, significance testing, regression modeling, experimental design, behavioral data analysis) would be a plus
  • Proven track record of being able to work independently and proactively engage with business stakeholders with minimal direction
  • Ability to build strong relationships and work cross-functionally with stakeholders in a globally distributed team
  • Military veterans are strongly encouraged to apply! Leadership, integrity, teamwork, and global perspective are just a few of the skills learned through Military service. At Dropbox, we value the experiences of current and previous members of the U.S. Armed Forces. This role is open to any qualified candidate, however, we have identified that the qualifications for this role match many of those who have served in the U.S. military. If you are a veteran please be sure to mark your veteran status at the bottom of the application. You can read more about our commitment to hiring veterans at dropbox.com/jobs/Veterans.

Additional Perks + Benefits

In order to be successful in our Virtual First environment we needed to make changes that would allow employees to have more control over both where and how they work. Therefore, we embrace “non-linear workdays” with defined core collaboration hours that overlap across time zones. Beyond that, we encourage employees to design their own schedules to balance collaboration with needs for individual focus. We’ve also moved from “all day syncs” to an “async by default” culture, reserving meetings for discussion, debate, and decision-making, and handling all other work in our deep focus hours.
