About the Role:
Our Big Data Team is seeking a technically sound Data Quality SDET to play an active role in validating data gathering, processing and reporting for our Data Warehouse. Working collaboratively with members of the team as well as other cross-team peers, you will learn our DW at a deep level and create tools and processes to ensure a high level of data integrity. The ideal candidate is someone who not only loves data – but knows how to make it actionable; who enjoys identifying roadblocks to efficiencies and replacing them with automation; has a driving curiosity to discover what works, why, and an unrelenting desire to improve results and efficiencies. This position is an important role, as the accuracy and fidelity of reports being produced from the DW drive many decisions that keep us aligned with company KPIs.
What You'll Be Doing: 

• Work closely with developers as peers to understand the underlying structure of the Data Warehouse, how we gather and process raw data at scale and our BI strategy
• Create a test strategy, automation and tooling needs, task out work, and provide feedback on design solutions
• Design and implement tooling that will allow for efficient and comprehensive validation of data and reports delivered to our customers
• Communicate status and needs accurately and effectively across teams
• Work closely with business stakeholders to help formulate their data needs in implementable terms
• Create and maintain validation environments and infrastructure on AWS in a Mac OS X/Linux environment

About you:

• Experience testing ETL systems processing large amounts of structured and unstructured data
• Strong understanding of SQL and ability to write complex, advanced SQL queries
• Ability to translate both simple and complex business rules to SQL queries and executing those queries to validate data quality and accuracy and ensuring the results meet agreed-up requirements and quality standards
• Experience coding in Python
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• We use AWS extensively, so experience with AWS technologies (RDS, RedShift, Kinesis, Dynamo) will help you hit the ground running
• Experience testing a BI/reporting solution. Experience with Yellowfin is a plus
• This is a highly collaborative role; must be able and willing to work closely with developers on design and review of each other’s work
