About the Role:

We are seeking a highly analytical and creative person to help us understand our customers and our business through data. You will have the opportunity to dig into data to better understand how customers use our product. You will work closely with teams across the company to build your findings into automated models and reports that improve both our provider and consumer experiences.

In this role, you will:

• Explore and analyze complex data sets, and use statistical and predictive modeling techniques to build data products and analytical solutions that deliver actionable insights and answer key business questions.
• Proactively identify opportunities where data science can be used to enhance and augment existing solutions to improve our product and impact different areas of the business.
• Partner with other teams to create tools, reports, or product features that allow learnings or recommendations from the data to empower both internal stakeholders and customers to make better, data-driven recommendations.
• Work with various stakeholders within the company to refine and teach the use of tools you have built and present findings to a broad audience of technical and non-technical co-workers, from other data scientists to executives.
• Automate, streamline, and document new and existing data processes and models to build robust, reusable, and scalable solutions.

You may be the right fit if you have:

• 4+ years of analytical experience (including experience gained as part of postgraduate education). 
• 3+ years of experience using Python/R and writing clear, functional, and well-documented code.
• 3+ years of experience using SQL.
• Deep understanding of statistical concepts like hypothesis testing, statistical significance, and probability distributions.
• Hands-on experience applying modern machine learning techniques (e.g., regression, classification, dimensionality reduction, and clustering algorithms) to real-world data.
• Strong communication skills, as well as written and verbal presentation skills.
• Strong business acumen and ability to translate business problems into data science problems that can be tackled with machine learning. 

Highly desired, but not required:

• Experience with e-commerce or web analytics.
• Experience with time-series/forecasting and/or linear programming.
• Experience with Amazon SageMaker.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools like Looker or Tableau.
