Ekata provides global identity verification via enterprise-grade APIs and a SaaS solution. Our product suite is powered by Ekata Identity Engine, the first and only cross-border identity engine of its kind. It uses complex machine learning algorithms across the five consumer attributes of email, phone, name, physical address, and IP to derive unique data links and features from billions of real-time transactions within our customer network and the globally sourced data of our graph. Businesses around the world including Alipay, Stripe, Airbnb, and Microsoft leverage our solutions to approve more good transactions, reduce friction, and find fraud.

Data Sourcing at Ekata has been built up over the past 7 years to be a core competency and primary differentiator for Ekata in the market.  These efforts are what allowed Ekata, then Whitepages Pro, to have a highly differentiated data set in the US centered around Mobile Phone & Email linkages to People when our business began.  More recently, in the past few years, Data Sourcing was at the forefront of our international expansion, building unique and high-value partnerships across the globe that provided us with a global Identity Graph that is unmatched, allowing for Ekata to deliver on our global fraud prevention and identity verification aspirations.  This role will be counted on to come in and take these efforts to the next level.

Over the past 12 months, Ekata has expanded our operations by opening up sales offices in Amsterdam and Singapore.  Additionally, we have built a new core competency at Ekata, leveraging Machine Learning to build highly predictive tools and signals for fraud prevention and identity verification.  This evolution has been targeted and intentional, but the result is increased complexity and demand from the market. As such, like with many other areas of Ekata, our data sourcing needs are expanding and evolving.

In this role, you will be tasked with establishing how the Data Sourcing function at Ekata will continue to be a leader in driving value for our customers.  You will work closely with Product Management, Sales leadership, and our Executive team to set the priorities for the team, and then work with your direct team and the cross-functional teams needed to execute against those priorities.  You will be looked upon as a leader at Ekata, overseeing a functional area that provides Ekata with significant & valuable differentiation over our competitors in the market.

Success in this role will be dictated by your passion for teamwork & leadership, your ability to build and cultivate strong relationships with colleagues and business partners alike, a willingness to adapt quickly and creatively, and the ability to communicate with transparency and consistency.

In the Director of Global Data Partnerships role you will:

  • Lead the overall Global Data Sourcing efforts for Ekata through managing the Data Sourcing team, cross-functional projects, and our most high-leverage partnerships
  • Build, manage and lead the execution of the Ekata Data Sourcing monthly, quarterly and annual roadmap
  • Work cross-functionally with Product Management, Data Analytics, Marketing, Sales, Legal and Finance as necessary to execute the roadmap and hit the team’s objectives
  • Lead partnership negotiations with our most high leveraged and critical data partnerships
  • Ultimately responsible for building and maintaining relationships with current and prospective data partners, whether that be owning the relationship directly or guiding the team on best practices
  • Manage a seven-to-eight figure annual budget applied to Ekata’s data sourcing practices, ensuring the budget is being leveraged properly to move Ekata’s business priorities forward
  • Communicates to external and internal stakeholders, ranging from Ekata executives and Board of Directors to external executives and principle decision-makers
  • Assist in Sales and Marketing efforts to advance the market’s knowledge of Ekata’s unique data sourcing and aggregation capabilities.  This includes, but is not limited to, on-site customer visits, small & large audience presentations, and creation of marketing collateral (eg, blog posts).
  • Act as a team manager and an individual contributor, doing whatever it takes to move your projects and initiatives forward
  • Provide career mentorship & guidance to your direct reports

Our ideal Director of Global Data Partnerships will have:

  • 4-year degree in Sales, Marketing, Economics, Business Administration or a related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in sales, business development or product management at a SaaS B2B or Data Company
  • Experienced & savvy negotiator who is comfortable working directly with C-level decision-makers
  • Two-plus years experience managing a team of both direct reports and non-direct reports (eg, a cross-functional project team)
  • Knowledge of the US or International public data industry is a major plus
  • Experience working in a startup / small-company environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals

Unwavering in our pursuit of standardizing global identity data, we are approachable, real people that genuinely care about the success of those we partner with. With a commitment to service, innovation, and ownership, Ekata is a dynamic place to work for folks who want to make an impact on a global scale. We provide learning & development opportunities for each employee and promote work-life flexibility through self-managed time off.
