We’re looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead and grow Pinterest’s Content Modeling team which heavily relies on Deep Learning and Machine Learning with a very large scale. Pinterest’s text/user embedding highly relies on the Content team and we're working to provide customized experience for Ads, Homefeed, Search, and Shopping. This is an opportunity to build and improve user experience for over 250M+ users worldwide across billions of pieces of unique content.

What you'll do:

• Work with engineers and technical program managers to define technical strategy and roadmap
• Collaborate with cross-functional product and engineering teams to understand requirements and incorporate them in the roadmap
• Research and develop models to deeply understand different types of text/user and enable upstream to benefit from our text/user embeddings
• Define and own the metrics to track team success
• Recruit new team members and develops talent

What we're looking for:

• 7+ years of experience in machine learning systems in production
• Expertise in technical communication skills across engineering, product, and leadership to drive hard decisions and demonstrate strong product sense to improve user experience
• 3+ years experience in engineering management
• Experience in building online or offline ML system is a plus
