About I/O Psychology at Karat:

Karat’s content team is responsible for producing relevant, predictive, and valid interview formats for all of our clients. This team is at the forefront of innovation, improving on our current assessment formats and redefining what an interview should look like in the future. As a Senior I/O Psychologist on this team, you will be responsible for using scientific rigor to ensure that our interviews are valid and free from bias. You will be in charge of communicating these results to clients and responding to their ongoing validation requests. You will also leverage your expertise to help innovate on our methodologies and product.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead the validation and evaluation of Karat processes and assessments.
  • Design and deliver job analyses, content and criterion-related validation, ROI, and adverse impact studies. 
  • Establish formal documentation for the defensibility of Karat’s assessments.
  • Interact with clients to communicate Karat’s approach to validation, assessments, and present relevant data and statistics 
  • Provide strategic direction for improvements to existing assessments and help in the design of new solutions
  • Work cross-functionally with sales, customer success, data, legal, and content teams to provide technical expertise and support 
  • Provide expertise and thought leadership (including to external audiences) on all relevant assessment and I/O psychology topics.


About You:

  • An advanced degree in I/O Psychology, or closely related field
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in applied selection practices, job analysis, test development, and validation
  • Comfort and experience with performing and explaining statistical analysis
  • Knowledge and understanding of US regulatory requirements for making employment decisions.
  • Foundational skills in conducting experimental research studies and data analysis
  • Proficiency in at least one statistics program (SPSS, R, SAS, etc.) strongly preferred
  • Expert knowledge, skills, and experience in managing large datasets, conducting multivariate statistical analyses, and presenting data and statistics to a variety of audiences
