About the Role:

The primary role of the Marketing Analytics Engineer will be to collaborate with data analysts, data engineers and developers to build and maintain clean datasets for analysis and reporting. This individual will be responsible for identifying and troubleshooting data outages and inconsistencies. Understanding the marketing technology stack and how the data flows between systems is crucial. The ideal candidate has experience with version control, writing ETLs, and communicating technical requirements and business logic, and has a passion for problem solving.

The Marketing team at PitchBook is critical to fueling the company's growth by utilizing a variety of strategies to support our Sales and Customer Success departments grow and retain our client base. The Marketing department is responsible for all demand generation efforts by executing engaging campaigns, effective product marketing strategies, and attending client and trade-show events. The Marketing team is also responsible for promoting the PitchBook brand and managing internal communications.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Write and optimize SQL queries to curate data into user friendly views in Snowflake
  • Design, implement and maintain ETL pipelines using Python and vendor APIs
  • Coordinate with developers and other engineers on data pipeline changes between front end, back end and the marketing tech stack
  • Identify, diagnose, and solve data inconsistencies
  • Collaborate with analysts to understand what information is needed to drive business decisions and support their data infrastructure needs
  • Document all automated processes and dependencies
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors.
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in a quantitative field
  • 3+ years of professional experience in analytics or data infrastructure
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and relational databases
  • Proficiency in Python/R for data analysis, ETLs, APIs
  • Knowledge of shell scripting and version control
  • Familiarity with data visualization and reporting software, preferably Tableau
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, Marketo, and Salesforce a plus
  • Proficiency with the MS Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily.
