The Role

We are looking for an outstanding and experienced economist or scientist to drive our R&D in causal inference, experimentation, and econometric analysis. We are looking for a creative thinker who can combine a strong economic toolbox, proficiency in modern tools for data science, with a desire to learn from others, and who knows how to execute and deliver on big ideas. As a Principal Economist, you are encouraged and expected to help Outreach establish thought leadership in the field of Science of Sales. We encourage publications and we are actively building collaboration and partnerships with academic communities.

About The Team

Data is at the core of Outreach's strategy. We use 1st party, customer, and 3rd party data to build knowledge assets and create intelligent experiences that guide sales reps towards more effective, personalized interactions with customers. We also use data to help sales managers and leaders optimize their sales process and coach reps more effectively. As our customer base continues to grow, we are looking towards new ways of leveraging data to help our customers, while ensuring security, scalability and reliability of our data-driven capabilities.

Outreach Data Science is advancing the Science of Sales. We are building an interdisciplinary team on the cutting edge of economics, causal inference, experimentation, machine learning, and natural language processing, whose mission is to provide intelligent automation and assistant for sales reps, and managerial decision support for sales management. We believe right now is the golden era for Science of Sales, and Outreach is at the frontier for innovation. (1) As customers are empowered with better information, more choices, and richer resources, the bar for salespeople has been raised. In fact, according to a recent global survey, only 42% of salespeople expect to hit their quota. There are tremendous opportunities and customer needs for leveraging data and AI to transform sales. (2) The increasingly ubiquitous virtual presence of sales and customer engagement enables substantially richer capacity to access data and information. (3) Outreach, a leading sales engagement platform, empowers sales teams to standardize their sales engagement workflow or playbook into software, which further enables automation, experimentation, and continuous improvement. Outreach is serving close to 100,000 sales professionals in about 4000 companies. We have rich data for understanding the entire journey of sales and customer engagement.
