The Role 


We’re looking for an analyst to help the Business Intelligence and Analytics team build a best in class analytics suite for Outreach. Your primary contributions will be focused on revenue reporting and analysis that supports our Finance department. You will have the opportunity to directly impact the planning and strategy for a high growth company that is a leader in its category. You love working with data but hate repetitive tasks, which drives you to build automated and optimized data foundations that facilitate deeper reporting and analysis. We expect you to have a full spectrum of analytical and technical capabilities. This includes building scalable and robust SQL data models, creating user-facing dashboards in a BI tool, and communicating the value of analytics to business partners. You are curious to identify the meaningful patterns in data and your analyses not only answer the business questions at hand but also deliver on the ‘why’ and the ‘so what’ behind the insights. You are self-motivated, proactive, and excited to learn.


The role will report to the Analytics Manager on the BI and Analytics team.


About The Team


The BI and Analytics team is on a mission to bring relevant data and insights to every person at Outreach while advancing the use of data and promoting an insight-centric culture. We are a centralized resource providing a suite of services to Outreach business functions including KPI definition, dashboards & reporting, ad hoc analysis, forecasting, self-serve analytics, predictive modeling, and data pipeline building.

Your Daily Adventures Will Include

  • Understanding data pipelines created by data engineers as they relate to Outreach’s revenue business 
  • Working with data engineers to create new data pipelines as the business evolves and there are new problems to solve with new data streams
  • Developing scalable SQL models on top of data pipelines
  • Improving existing SQL models in alignment with BI team principles 
  • Curating and certifying data sources in Tableau from production SQL models, and supporting data champions with these data sources, including validating data champion analyses
  • Needfinding with finance business partners, and developing requirements with them, to determine problems that can be solved and supported with data
  • Building Tableau dashboards that address finance business partner problems; while maintaining and improving existing dashboards
  • Performing deep-dive analysis that leads to a deeper understanding of the drivers of the sales/revenue business, while making this new understanding actionable for stakeholders 
  • Leading business stakeholders to become more data-driven and advising them on the proper analytics frameworks to manage their business or solve a given problem
  • Collaborating with BI team to create internal consistency and long term scalability and reliability for our analytics practice
  • Definition, maintenance, and governance of KPIs for sales and sales development teams
  • Growing our best practices around reporting quality, data hygiene, and data governance

Basic Qualifications

  • BS Degree in a quantitative discipline
  • 3-5 years experience in data analytics
  • 2-5 years in SQL experience
  • Strong understanding of relational databases
  • Experience with visualization and dashboard tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, etc.)
  • Experience modeling in spreadsheet software (Excel, Sheets, etc.)
  • Critical attention to detail
  • Proactive communication
  • Desire to learn
  • Ability to present analytical findings
  • Positive attitude

Preferred Qualifications

  • Subject matter experience supporting a Finance Department, or a Revenue facing team
  • Experience in a SaaS business, or a recurring revenue business model
  • Advanced SQL and data modeling skills on large data sets
  • Experience with customer relationship software (SFDC, etc.)
  • Experience with recurring billing software (Zuora, etc.)
  • Version control experience (Github, DBT, etc.)
  • Experience in a high growth organization
