Carta is hiring experienced data engineers at the Senior, Staff, Senior Staff, and Principal levels in San Francisco, Palo Alto, Seattle, and New York City to build the infrastructure powering the ownership graph: the central registry of asset ownership across the globe.

As a data infrastructure engineer at Carta, you’ll build our data warehouse and the services it powers, helping scale dependable, data-driven decision-making across the company and delivering the next generation of financial tools to our customers and partners. You will play a foundational role on Carta’s fast-growing Data & Machine Learning team, working on one of the world’s most valuable data sets.

Candidates must have strong technical skills, be excited by “zero to one” projects, and enjoy working closely with stakeholders across engineering, product, business, and marketing.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years industry experience with big-data technologies (Airflow, Spark, Presto, Kafka, Hive, Redshift, Looker, etc.)
• Proficiency with modern programming languages (Python, Java, Scala, etc.) and SQL
• Some DataOps experience (Docker, Terraform, Rancher, Kubernetes, etc. on AWS or Google Cloud)
• A deep understanding of performance, scalability, and reliability in parallel and distributed systems
• A deep belief in data quality testing and the tooling necessary to build confidence in complex, rapidly-changing data sources
• Some practical experience with probability, statistical modeling, or machine learning
• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree a plus) in Computer Science or a closely-related field, or equivalent work experience
• A collaborative attitude and a helpful personality
