We’re looking for a Data Scientist to join the Airbnb.org team. You will lead the development of analytical models, reporting, and insights to amplify the reach and performance of Airbnb.org’s mission.
Responsibilities
- Defining key metrics (internal goals & public facing metrics)
- Creating business critical dashboards
- Investigating challenging questions around Airbnb.org’s users’ behavior
- Researching and compiling external data sources to inform business decisions
- Forecast global need for housing across a variety of causes (disaster response, refugee resettlement, etc.)
- Designing experiments in partnership with our product team
- Informing the public narrative of our work through data and visualizations
Qualifications
- 5+ years analytics experience (data analysis and visualization)
- Fluency in the core toolkit of Data Science:
- Implementing visualizations, dashboards, and reports
- Advanced SQL/Hive
- Airflow or similar job-scheduler tools
- Descriptive and predictive modeling
- R/Python (proficient or willing to learn)
- Experience with statistical analysis, modeling, and building data pipelines
- Ability to translate quantitative data into actionable recommendations and communicate to business partners through strong written and verbal communication
- Project management experience, with proven ability to succeed in both collaborative and independent work environments
- High level of independence and autonomy
