At Groupon, data drives our decisions. We are looking for a Senior Manager for the Goods Data Science team who will join an influential team to guide the Groupon Goods product roadmap by deriving meaningful insights from the wealth of data we have from our customers, logistics networks and suppliers. You will be leading a team to enhance customer experience, increase customer frequency and retention. We are looking for someone to join our team to work on and lead groundbreaking R&D projects, to leverage massive structured, unstructured, transactional and real-time data sets from a variety of sources, analyze financial and customer usage patterns and make actionable recommendations using machine learning, data mining, business understanding and common sense.

You will spend your time on the following:

• Develop data and analytics strategy to partner with the product, operations and engineering teams and drive further business growth

• Develop and manage our Groupon Goods’ A/B testing framework and drive towards data-founded conclusions

• Implement a solid development, evaluation, deployment and refinement methodology for data science projects
• Be a champion for data accuracy and consistent reporting by designing and creating optimal processes and procedures for our growing analytics organization
• Oversee the design and delivery of reports and insights that analyze business functions and key operations and performance metrics
• Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies
• Use both descriptive and predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, underwriting as well as other business outcomes
• Hire and mentor a team of data scientists, data engineers and data analysts to expand the impact of data and drive business insights

We're excited about you if you have:
• BS or MS in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, Statistics or related quantitative field
• 8+ years of experience manipulating, processing and extracting value from large, complex datasets
• 3+ years of experience managing and leading data, analytics or business intelligence teams

• Expertise in  analytical concepts and statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations for business units
• Strong SQL skills, ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries
• Programming experience in one or more of the following: Java, Python, R, and/or C, C++
• Advanced Tableau coding skills with a track record of developing visualizations that drive and optimize business outcomes
• Experience and knowledge of statistical modeling techniques: GLM multiple regression, logistic regression, log-linear regression, variable selection, etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across technical and non-technical teams
