Senior Strategy and Business Operations Associate

This newly created role sits within the Strategy & Business Operations team. Our team collaborates with a broad range of partners including Hotwire’s Leadership Team. We have an immediate impact on our business and the ability to grow in an exciting, fast-paced area of the travel industry. Deep exposure to every facet of our business will allow you to gain a General Manager’s perspective. What you'll do:

  • Strategy Development: You will work closely with the Director of Strategy & Business Operations to drive the annual strategic planning process. We work across departments to understand key business drivers and synthesize data-based insights that will drive the company’s strategies.

  • Special Projects: We execute internal consulting engagements that are broadly defined and result in important decisions regarding Hotwire’s business strategy. Examples may include competitive intelligence, product/geographic mix, the evolution of the business model, etc.

  • Cross-team Execution: Our team is deeply embedded in cross-team operations and execution. Your work will not end at the strategy-setting phase, as you will engage in various types of initiatives to provide analytical input and strategic direction to our cross-team partners, with the goal of driving progress on our OKRs.

  • You have fun! We are a lively team spanning San Francisco, Seattle, and Gurgaon, India.

 

Who you are:

 

If you are a curious and intuitive self-starter, you will be well-positioned to ideate and execute against critical initiatives involving all Hotwire business units.

  • Bachelors degree with 3-6 years of experience with a top tier strategy consulting firm or in-house strategy or business operations team for an e-commerce or tech company.

  • Highly proficient in data analysis, including quickly drawing insights from complex data sets and comfort with Excel and SQL.

  • Record of creative, structured approach to problem-solving and data-centered communication and decision-making.

  • Previous experience in effectively collaborating with and influencing mid- and senior-level leaders, including through development of PowerPoint decks.

  • Familiarity with eCommerce, retail, and travel industry is preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and ability to handle various projects/responsibilities.
