What does IT at ExtraHop look like?

As a member of our ExtraHop IT (EHIT) you'll be a member of the "Best Places to work in IT" as recognized by IDG Insider Pro and Computerworld - ranked number eight among organizations with fewer than 1,000 U.S. employees. As a Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst you will work with leaders across the company and apply a variety of analytic and reporting techniques to answer a wide range of business questions and drive decisions across the company. You will create company-wide reporting standards that will yield consistency across teams. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business partners to identify reporting and data analysis needs.
  • Develop business, functional, and technical requirements documents.
  • Scope, design, build, deliver, and maintain reporting for all areas of the business using platforms such as Tableau and Salesforce.
  • Establish company-wide taxonomy, reporting structure, and data visualization standards.
  • Partner with colleagues to assure access security to commingled datasets and reporting platforms.
  • Mentor departmental Tableau creators.

Qualifications Required Skills

  • Proven ability to convert business and technical requirements into SQL, datasets, and impactful reports
  • Mastery of analytics and reporting tools including Tableau and Excel
  • Functional knowledge of Salesforce Reporting and Dashboard capabilities
  • Experience working on data warehouse deployments
  • Comprehension of analytical programming languages such as SQL, Python or R
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet applications including Excel and Google Sheets
  • Ability to flow between independent and collaborative work
  • Capable of prioritizing multiple projects while still achieving deadlines, and communicating roadblocks
  • Strategic, intellectually curious thinker with focus on outcomes
  • Insatiable desire to share your knowledge and the curiosity to learn from coworkers, even things you'll never need in your "day job"
  • Willingness to question the validity and accuracy of data and assumptions

Desired Skills and Tools

  • Demonstrated experience in writing software requirements and test specifications
  • Experience with Salesforce, Netsuite, and similar business systems
  • Other visualization tools and libraries such as D3.js or Mermaid.
  • Implementation of ETL/ELT tools, particularly Fivetran
  • Experience with serverless cloud tools, e.g. AWS Lambda, GCP Cloud Functions
  • Experience managing cloud datastores such as Snowflake, AWS RDS/Aurora and GCP BigQuery
  • Interest in or experience with Power BI or Looker
  • Familiarity with revision control systems such as Gitlab, Github, or Bitbucket
  • A strong opinion on the existential question: what diameter pie chart hole changes it from from a pie chart to a donut chart
