System1 is a leader in the search engine marketing (SEM) and traffic acquisition space due to our sophisticated technology that allows us to acquire paid traffic for publishers at scale, and leverage first and third party data for maximum conversion optimization. Our proprietary Responsive Acquisition Marketing Platform (RAMP) is the engine behind our products and services, and with our extensive technical organization we are able to build in-house solutions to many challenges within the online advertising marketplace.

Our Analytics team works closely with product and engineering leaders to bridge the gap between what we know and what is possible. They go beyond reporting, and partner with high-level stakeholders to guide the roadmapping process with data-backed insights on a granular level. By leveraging cutting edge technologies like AWS and Snowflake, they are able to work with deep levels of data to determine what the business can support in the present, and what will be needed to drive it forward.

We are adding a Sr. Data Analyst to our team to serve as the data expert when it comes to the development of our RAMP technology. They will work with product owners and engineering leadership to align new feature development with current data capabilities and inform future infrastructure development, discover new ways to harness first-party data across the business, and drive efforts toward improving efficiency within data pipelines and tooling.

Where We Are:

System1’s Headquarters is in Marina del Rey, CA. We also have offices in Bellevue, WA and Guelph, Ontario, Canada.

We are able to support remote work in Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Washington state, as well as the Canadian provinces of Ontario and British Columbia.

What You Can Expect On The Team:

  • Partner with product and engineering teams to support roadmapping and development of our RAMP technology using data-backed analysis of current capabilities
  • Use available data to model product changes and influence the forward direction of how we scale our RAMP technology
  • Analyze opportunities to increase data availability and ingestion, and partner with technical teams to implement winning solutions
  • Evaluate current applications of first-party data and work with teams throughout the org to build new solutions that leverage this data across the business
  • Become a subject matter expert when it comes to System1’s data infrastructure, and share knowledge to improve stakeholder understanding of technological capabilities
  • Lead discovery projects that investigate potential opportunities for continued analysis, business growth, and improving internal data flows and processes
  • Partner with Data Engineering teams to improve efficiency in data flows and internal tooling capabilities
  • Promote the development of younger team members by sharing expertise and modeling best practices within the data infrastructure

What You Can Bring To The Team:

  • Expert-level understanding of SQL - Optimizing queries for efficiency and self-serving data for projects, preparing and cleaning data for analysis
  • Expertise with big data technologies like AWS, Snowflake, Python, and/or R
  • Experience leading analytics projects from defining KPIs to communicating findings, and interfacing with high-level stakeholders within the business
  • Experience partnering with ETL/DE teams to improve tooling and data flows
  • Thorough understanding of big-data technologies and how to use them to their full potential
  • Strong data visualization skills and ability to breakdown complex data sets for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proactive stakeholder communication and the ability to manage projects independently while collaborating with your team on bigger initiatives
  • A feeling that the question is never fully answered, and an internal drive to continue digging into the data to do more and go further
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, Data Science, etc.
  • Specific knowledge of visualization tools like Tableau, Excel, or PowerBI is a plus, as well as Python for data analysis and automation
