Job Description
This position reports to: Senior Manager, Business and Data Analytics

As a member of the Product Operations Analytics team, the Staff and Business Analyst will work directly with our Support and Engineering Organizations to deliver analytics solutions. With a combination of exceptional analytical skills, an insatiable curiosity, and an entrepreneurial “get stuff done” mindset, you’ll help us better understand our customers, partners, and products, and drive important changes that will shape the future of ServiceNow.
This position is can be based out of Santa Clara, San Diego, Kirkland or remote US.
What you get to do in this role:
We are looking for a Data Rockstar! An ideal candidate will have end to end experience in gathering requirements from stakeholders, understanding their needs vs wants, retrieving data using data mining languages (SQL/PLSQL etc.) and developing effective executive level analytics dashboards that clearly communicates a data story. The work requires experience in responsive visualization design and development. As senior personnel, the ideal candidate is expected to be open to mentoring others, serving as a technical lead within the team, and providing optimization solutions to problematic analytics deliverables.
The ideal candidate should have a background in analytics and statistics, the ability to foster relationships with staff across departments and be motivated to continuously achieve positive results. They should also be able to effectively handle ad hoc requests with little guidance.
Develop interactive data visualizations that enable business insights and make recommendations
Design and develop scale analytics solutions for Engineering, QE and Support Organizations
Work cross functionally with stakeholders to gather requirements for analytics requests given vague asks and be able to differentiate between needs vs wants
Effectively create wireframes and mockups based on requirements and participate in data strategy
Lead complex data analysis to develop, track, and maintain key metrics to ensure alignment across stakeholders.
Create datasets using SQL and build powerful visualizations that communicate the story
The right candidate will have hybrid skills in business analytics, data visualization, and data engineering
Troubleshoot production issues and resolve them quickly with minimal help
Train business users to use dashboards, enable them to interpret the data
Present recommendations to senior leadership, and drive the “follow through” of those recommendations to ensure smooth execution with a diverse array of cross-functional partners
Look for data quality opportunities to promote a data quality mindset across ServiceNow
Qualifications
In order to be successful in this role:
Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics or similar focuses.
7+ years of professional experience as an analyst with 5 of those years in designing executive level dashboards
Proficient in using SQL to extract data from data warehouses & prepare data for complex analyses
Expert knowledge of Tableau, Power BI, Looker and other BI analytics tools.
Must have expert level understanding of dashboard design.
Expert in Hadoop, HIVE and Big Data Architecture
ServiceNow Performance Analytics experience and JavaScript Experience preferred.
Solid decision making, negotiation, and persuasion skills, often in ambiguous situations
Superior communication and presentation skills
Must be able to work in fast paced environment and be able to adopt to changing requirements.
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
This position requires passing a ServiceNow background screening, USFedPASS (US Federal Personnel Authorization Screening Standards). This includes a credit check, criminal/misdemeanor check and taking a drug test. Any employment is contingent upon passing the screening. A flexible work persona is defined as an employee who is contracted to work from or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office and will work from their assigned workplace location roughly 3 days/week or less (generally around 40-60% of the work week). Flexible employees may choose to work the remaining working time from their workplace location or home. Flexible employees are required to work within their state, province, region, or country of employment.
Remote
A remote work persona is defined as an employee who performs their responsibilities exclusively outside of a ServiceNow workplace and is not contracted or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office, including those whose place of work (pursuant to their terms and conditions of employment) is their home. Remote employees are required to work within their state, province, region, or country of employment.
