About this role:
As Remitly’s Creative Director you will be responsible for communicating the Remitly brand across all marketing creative globally. You will oversee the creative process, focusing on getting quality input from your partners in the organization and driving an efficient, happy creative team. Your aim will be to build the world’s most trusted consumer financial services brand through pitch-perfect, insight-led creative.
You will report to the VP of Brand, and will work closely with stakeholders from across the organization to educate them on how to work with creative experts. You will be tasked with powerfully expressing our brand in all creative communications and ensuring localized execution remains consistent and aligned. You’ll work on big, important things that require a lot of thought, as well as smaller things that require quick turnaround to keep our marketing efforts agile. You will be both a player and a coach to a creative team of designers and copywriters, taking on workload as needed to ensure agility.
You will evolve the Remitly brand in partnership with the VP Brand and direct creative work to deliver paid social, landing pages, digital and email campaigns, television and things we haven’t thought of yet.
You have:
- 10+ years marketing/advertising art direction experience - in-house or at an advertising agency (or a combination of both)
- Proven experience evolving or expressing a brand and creating and directing marketing materials for a consumer product or service across channels — consumer technology brand experience a plus.
- 5+ years experience leading a creative team of art directors, designers, copywriters
- Expert knowledge of digital marketing including but not limited to paid social, email, landing pages, video and more.

What you’ll do:
- Hire, inspire and develop a team of art directors, designers and writers to concept and develop marketing and advertising creative that represents the brand, resonates with our audiences and drives performance
- Partner closely with marketing and development teams to improve our business results.
- Review and provide feedback for all creative work to ensure a consistently high-level of brand alignment and relevance to our target audiences
- Ensure the creative team is focused on high-priority work that aligns with the marketing plan and strategy
- Establish, socialize and enforce a creative process that sets the creative team up for success including quality input, lead time, streamlined reviews and efficiency
- Generate ideas that resonate with our customers from diverse countries and backgrounds
- Evolve the brand expression to modern standards, socialize and engender across the organization
- Work with the Project Management team to forecast creative workload.
- Participate in the selection of outside agencies, freelancers and other outside resources to expand the creative team capacity.
- Work closely with Broadcast Production to deliver TV and video.
- Partner with the Product and UX teams to drive brand consistency across consumer touch points
- Be a player/coach - helping execute marketing campaigns, from conception to completion.
