Creative Lead - Emerging Opportunities

Job Description:

New Engen is seeking an experienced, hands-on creative leader to drive forward creative opportunities in new channels and new lines of business. You’ll join our team as a creative entrepreneur, strategist, creator, mentor and consultant for client work in new marketing channels and untested creative services. 

With limited direction, you’ll partner with Platform and Performance Marketing leaders to identify opportunities to use creative execution to drive channel performance, pitch your ideas to clients, and document and report on your progress along the way as you shepherd new channels from “unexplored” to “core skillset”. You’ll dive into executions with hands-on creative work, but not limited to your own skillset, you’ll conceptualize solutions across a range of channel needs, accessing the creative capabilities you need through external and internal talent.

The Creative Lead for Emerging Opportunities will solve a range of creative problems and jump on projects of various sizes. Your goal will be to develop winning creative approaches for clients, and playbooks for New Engen that can ultimately be transitioned to a scalable part of our business.


  • Design foundational creative approaches to improve marketing performance in new channels or areas of business
  • Concept, Write, Design, Produce, Direct – your core creative background will serve as a foundation to explore other creative capabilities, and you’ll identify needs to fill your own skills gaps to get new creative done
  • Maintain direct client relationships and communications as needed
  • Pursue creative solutions for a variety of channels, including but not limited to:
    • Amazon, TikTok, Offline, TV and Streaming, Radio, Branding and Websites
  • Set and communicate priorities while maintaining alignment with partners in the Platform and Performance Marketing teams
  • Identify opportunities to apply New Engen’s unique data-driven creative mindset to new areas of business in a way that differentiates us from other creative shops;
  • Ideate simple solutions (i.e. tools or partnerships) to otherwise scale effectively and affordably
  • Craft processes and document best practices as you find what works--not content to adapt to market- and channel- defaults, you’ll doggedly seek to improve on execution and impact--using data to inform your creative recommendations


  • Conceptual problem-solver who is motivated to chart through ambiguity to add value through creative execution
  • Inspiring digital creative portfolio and comfort with hands-on creative work
  • Ideally 10+ years of professional experience in the design field (a background in digital design is the most applicable, but other skillsets will be considered)
  • Education or experience in marketing design/creative, or related industry
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Motion design, Photography/art direction, Video Storyboarding, Branding – all plusses
  • Strong communication and KILLER time management skills
  • Positive attitude and drive to keep learning, regardless of career stage
  • Patience with endless marketing acronyms
