Your Role And Impact

You are curious about how people work together and want to empower teams to create, share, and collaborate better together. You believe that research has the greatest impact when tightly coupled with design decisions. You thrive on interdisciplinary design teams and can ask helpful questions and design thoughtful research at all stages of the product lifecycle. You can see the uncertainties that slow teams down and help surface questions people didn’t even know they had.

In this role, you will be building a program from the ground up with broad institutional support from senior leadership and cross functional partners, and partner with resources across Customer Experience, Sales, Product, Design and Engineering to ensure we are taking a customer-centric view to our product experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Define a set of foundational UX needs (e.g. accessibility, account security, billing)
  • Design a research program that continuously evaluates and prioritize issues
  • Work closely with design systems and engineering resources from a centralized team to address UX gaps and take action on critical experience issues
  • Work closely with a dedicated program manager to facilitate coordination and progress across the organization
  • Champion simple, human interactions across our product, support, and education surfaces.
  • Communicate research insights in creative and effective ways among stakeholders
  • Advocate and guide strategy for design and product direction
  • Mentor and advise researchers

Requirements

  • 5+ years of UX-related work experience
  • Broad experience with a wide variety of research methods applied across the product development process
  • Strength in a particular research specialty: prototyping, surveys, statistical modeling, exploratory research, analytics/visualization, etc.
  • Demonstrated skills for collaborating closely with other researchers, designers, product managers and engineers
  • Clear, compelling presentation and communication style
  • Passionate about UX metrics and UX benchmarking
  • Passionate about designing organizational process
  • Able to triangulate across multiple types of data (analytics, CX tickets, surveys, and usability studies)
  • Experienced at working cross-functionally across Sales, CX, Product, Design, and Engineering

Additional Perks + Benefits

In order to be successful in our Virtual First environment we needed to make changes that would allow employees to have more control over both where and how they work. Therefore, we embrace “non-linear workdays” with defined core collaboration hours that overlap across time zones. Beyond that, we encourage employees to design their own schedules to balance collaboration with needs for individual focus. We’ve also moved from “all day syncs” to an “async by default” culture, reserving meetings for discussion, debate, and decision-making, and handling all other work in our deep focus hours.
