About the Role:

PitchBook is looking for a Director, Product Design based in our Seattle headquarters. We are looking for a systems-level design thinker, with design intuition and customer focus who can provide a strong vision and set direction for the team. You will partner with Engineering and Product Management teams to create innovative products and solutions through the PitchBook Platform that provide our customers with the information they need to win.

Your overall objective will be to develop a team that consistently delivers an amazing customer experience that helps our customers accomplish their goals. In this role, you will be the head of Product Design for PitchBook and lead the Product Design team. You will also help guide and shape the company's strategic vision as a member of PitchBook’s Senior Leadership Team.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and grow teams through effective hiring, coaching, and development
  • Provide design leadership; set vision, strategies, goals, priorities, plans, and oversee design standards
  • Lead new and holistic thinking across product areas and releases for the PitchBook platform
  • Drive the creation and implementation of UX standards and best practices across the company
  • Partner with product management to work on feature prioritization, design and implementation
  • Grow and develop a team of UX designers; set a high bar for excellence in product design
  • Present designs to cross-functional stakeholders across the company, including the executive team

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of UX design experience
  • 4+ years of people management and leading teams
  • Track record of building and leading high-performing design teams
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and time management skills
  • Fluency in best practices for User Interface Design, Information Architecture, and Interaction Design; practical knowledge of User Centered Design processes
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the latest design concepts, emerging technologies, and other developments in the user experience field
  • Effectiveness in working across organizational boundaries to influence and deliver results
  • Exemplary analytical skills and high judgment
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
  • Bachelor’s, or equivalent degree, in Design, HCI, or related field or equivalent professional experience with the design field
