About the role

We are hiring a fully remote leader for our User Experience and Design organization to own UX across the company. Guiding a team of UX designers, you'll drive a compelling vision for our consumer and provider journeys and experiences across our website, mobile applications, provider dashboards, and other products. Your deep expertise in human-centered design will drive our business strategy and product roadmaps as we deliver on our company mission to create a world where every investment in modern beauty is worth it.

In this role, you will:

• Develop strategic directions and corresponding metrics that solve customer experience challenges in novel ways. You’ll work with product and engineering leaders to communicate your solutions, understand limitations, balance quality and speed, and recommend prioritization based on customer and business impact.
• Promote simple, sophisticated experiences and hold the entire technology team — not just the UX org — accountable for quality.
• Drive design thinking across the company and help others understand and apply human-centered design to their work.
• Contribute to our talent pipeline, continuing to develop a home for world-class UX designers to thrive
• Partner, evolve, expand on design processes & best practices.
• Stay on top of industry trends, innovative approaches, inspire, guide, mentor.

About You:

• You have 10+ years of experience as a UXD with a demonstrable history in designing complex solutions, including 3+ years as a leader of a design/research team of at least three people.
• You’ve owned strategy/research/design end-to-end. 
• You have demonstrated experience identifying and evangelizing innovative yet straightforward solutions; your team’s launches are high quality and positively impact core customer & business outcomes.
• You have a solid online portfolio showcasing deep knowledge in user-centered design thinking, including:
  • VisD stylistic breadth
  • attention to detail balanced with beauty
  • usability
• You have sharp hard skills balanced with a highly creative mind.
• You’re a curious, critical, holistic thinker. You are proactive & transparent.
• You have a strong understanding of research methodologies, task building, facilitation, and trending insights.
• You bring excellent communication, presentation, storytelling skills advocating for the customer. You’re equally able to digest input, feedback & criticism impartially & with humility.
• You can work in a rapid test & learn agile, performance-driven environment. You experiment often, fail fast, and optimize solutions using AB testing methodology.
• Pluses include experience in responsive web, native app, Figma, React & Storybook.

Travel is not anticipated for this role.
