Summary:

Are you a systems thinker who understands the parts AND the whole? Are you obsessed with not just solving problems, but solving the right problems? Do you know the difference between UX and UI, and don’t really like the term “UX/UI”? Have you been mistaken for a product manager or product owner on occasion because of the way you approach your work? If you’re nodding yes to all of these, have we got a role for you!

We are seeking a Senior level or above UX Designer with a passion to solve complex business problems through deep customer and user understanding, killer UX design, and relentless experimentation and refinement. Collaborating with Product Management, Engineering, and other designers, you will design unified experiences across a portfolio of products to deliver valuable outcomes for our customers.

You’ll be joining a stellar team of designers for ServiceNow’s IT Operations Management (ITOM) products. Our ITOM products help customers attain complete visibility of their IT infrastructure, predictive intelligence about the health of all systems, and the power to tune their infrastructure to optimal effectiveness.

Recently named the world’s most innovative company by Forbes, ServiceNow is a global leader in the digital transformation of the modern enterprise. We help our customers transform how work gets done so that the most important part of their business—their employees—have the best experiences possible, whether it’s IT infrastructure, security, HR, or customer service. We like to say we make work work better! (Check out this video about us: Why ServiceNow)

  • Planning and managing design projects that align to overall product strategy
  • Integrating the work of fellow designers into your own to create a seamless overall experience
  • Constantly communicating and collaborating with cross-department stakeholders
  • Delivering thoughtful and detailed design work that is:
    • Grounded in solid research and validation
    • Polished with little need for cleanup
    • Easily used by engineering to build great product
    • Pushing the envelope to achieve game changing results
  • Being a valued mentor to less experienced designers
  • Establishing best practice methods for the general design team

You will focus on:

  • Promoting, defining, and conducting or coordinating user research to truly understand our customers and users’ goals and needs.
  • Engaging with product teams at a strategic level to frame out what we need to build and how to get there.
  • Planning and executing design validation research with customers and usability testing designs.
  • Creating end-to-end detailed designs as a series of experience maps, storyboards, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
  • Coordinating the work of multiple designers responsible for crafting more granular experiences and weave them into a seamless end-to-end experience.

What you bring:

  • At least 8 years experience in UX or interaction design with heavy emphasis on solid human centered design methods
  • An inspiring portfolio showing us how you have researched and crafted great experiences, seeing them through to released product
  • Experience working in complex, technical environments

An Insider's view of ServiceNow

How would you describe the company’s work-life balance?

I am a working mom, and I appreciate the privilege of being able to work from home when I need to adjust my hours. I could be offline for two hours in the middle of the day because there's a school event for my kids. To be able to do so without the pressure of, "Oh my goodness! Now it's going to make me look bad," I don't take that for granted.

Kurdin

Manager, Strategy & Operations

What does your typical day look like?

I work in global cloud services and constantly collaborate with people–every day is different. I could be working on product design, collaborating with folks in other organizations, driving decisions, assessing technology, and talking with customers.

Bill

Distinguished Systems Architect

What does career growth look like on your team?

Since joining ServiceNow, I've built out my leadership team, and 60% are women. My goal for my team is to create opportunities and a platform to showcase the incredible impact that they're having on the business, whether that's having them lead a critical initiative with cross-functional visibility or present during a C-suite meeting.

Vanessa

President, ServiceNow.org

How do your team's ideas influence the company's direction?

In this expanding hybrid world, people conduct millions of transactions on a regular basis, creating more data and processes to manage. So, continuing to offer new solutions, while scaling to the expectations of the modern world, is a challenge we are excited to take on. We are driving new levels of productivity, automation, and innovation.

Pat

Chief Technology Officer

What are some things you learned at the company?

Sometimes, we feel a little self-conscious. We may feel intimated or too shy to share our points of view. But in order to make an impact, we need to be able to trust our voice.

Ying

Director, Product Design
