Volt is looking for a Senior Product Designer to help us design and deliver thoughtful user experiences that enable coaches and trainers to provide world-class training to athletes everywhere. You’ll work closely with company leadership and the product development team to shape the Volt experience on web, mobile and beyond.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Volt’s product, our users, and our competition.
  • Work within a small but mighty design team, building efficient design processes that always put the focus on user needs.
  • Build a collaborative relationship with our agile product team. Work hand-in-hand with Product Ownership and Engineering to maintain a high bar of visual and functional product quality.
  • Develop high quality deliverables at all levels - from high level concept maps and user journeys to detailed UI mockups, prototypes, and design specifications.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a UX+UI designer shipping simple, intuitive solutions to address complex user needs.
  • A strong portfolio comprised of attractive, user-centered projects.
  • High proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools (figma, principle etc).
  • Experience designing products in an agile, iterative setting.

Nice to have, but not required:

  • Experience building and maintaining design systems, from simple tokens to comprehensive component libraries.
  • HTML+CSS proficiency.
  • Interest in fitness.

    Location:

We were founded in Seattle, WA, and that's where most of the team resides. However, we've recently converted to a fully distributed team, with a growing number of employees located elsewhere in the United States.

Due to COVID-19, Volt has transitioned to a fully distributed workforce. All open positions are remote at this time, however, candidates should be based in the US with a willingness to travel to Seattle periodically. Volt has recently adopted a 4-day workweek, allowing employees to have more control over their work schedules. Unsurprisingly, this has resulted in higher levels of job satisfaction and lower levels of stress across the company!

Volt Athletics is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, sexual orientation, marital status, veteran status, gender identity or expression, or any other basis protected by local, state, or federal law.

Our company's core mission is to help our customers achieve their goals through thoughtful training that results in healthier lives. Please see our about page for more details.
