POSITION SUMMARY: This role oversees product design for our growing suite of software features supporting appraisal industry professionals. In this role, you will set UX/UI design strategy for Aloft, develop practical designs for implementation based on user insights, and support engineers and other stakeholders in execution of your designs. This role reports directly to the Head of Product.

WHAT YOU’LL DO (Essential Functions):

  • Lead full-cycle design for software features from prototype to end product
  • Develop customer empathy through user interviews and usability testing
  • Translate user needs into design decisions
  • Partner with Engineering and Product to launch and improve every feature we build
  • Interface with our leadership and operation teams to ensure feature needs are being met
  • Identify target user groups and interview users to best understand user needs
  • Provide guidance on the implementation of UX research techniques and testing activities
  • Perform tests on user interface elements such as CTAs, layouts, target links, landing pages, banners, etc.
  • Understand product specifications and user psychology and predict what might work for both
  • Conduct other projects or duties as assigned

WHAT YOU’LL BRING (Essential Qualifications):

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred)

Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in UX/UI design for software applications, preferably in the real estate, customer service, productivity, operations management or financial software industries
  • 1+ years high growth startup experience preferred

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity (and be comfortable doing so) while our design strategy solidifies
  • Demonstrates a deep sense of empathy
  • Understanding around when something is "customer ready"
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey project strategies and goals
  • Effective interpersonal skills with ability to develop partnerships with team members at all levels and in all departments
  • Ability to work proactively and autonomously in a fast-paced environment while maintaining flexibility through changing priorities and demanding timelines
  • Knowledge of the real estate industry is a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is an open office environment with a standard to high level office noise like talking, office equipment, etc.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is often active and may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching. The employee must sometimes lift and/or move items up to 25 pounds and must frequently sit and/or stand and use a computer for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities are required to do this job including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

We are located on the edge of Pioneer Square and the downtown business center, in clear view of the Seattle Waterfront. The office is easily accessible, with bus stops out front and the Link station being a few blocks away!
