Matillion technology turns every business into a data business. Our low-code data integration platform helps modern teams ingest, enrich and synchronise their data across a variety of cloud platforms. Leading companies like Slack, Cisco, and DocuSign trust Matillion to help them transform operational data into useful information at enterprise scale.

We’re backed by top Silicon Valley investors and recently closed a $150M Series E in September 2021 for a total amount of $250M raised in 2021. Our investors include current and former backers of other leading enterprise data companies like Databricks, Informatica and Mulesoft.

As Snowflake’s 2021 data integration partner of the year and a winner of Databricks’ 2021 ISV Innovation Award, our product strategy and engineering execution is continuously recognized as best in class by a rapidly growing ecosystem of technology partners.

With dual headquarters in Manchester, UK and Denver, Colorado, and an expanding hybrid culture, we are looking for passionate, high-integrity individuals to help us scale up our rapidly growing business.

We are now looking to add a Senior Product Designer to #TeamGreen based remotely in Ireland.

As Senior Product Designer at Matillion you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the customer is at the heart of everything we do. Through collaborating with a variety of stakeholders including Product, Product Marketing and Engineering, you’ll nurture ongoing and upcoming initiatives to ensure they consistently satisfy user-centric outcomes.

With support from our Design Principals to grow your T-shaped skill set, you’ll take ownership of user research, information architecture, content design, interaction design and visual design to deliver enhancements and innovations to the Matillion product portfolio. You will be an advocate for design-thinking across the organisation and help us to scale our design practices. You’ll have your eye on the bigger picture while obsessing over the details and experimenting with concepts to bring useful, useable and desirable product experiences to market.

What you will be doing

  • Identify user needs and develop elegant user experiences in collaboration with other designers, developers and stakeholders
  • Define, create and communicate concepts, end-to-end scenarios, service blueprints and prototypes to all stakeholder levels
  • Create stunning visual interfaces applying and contributing patterns and components to the Matillion Design System
  • Contribute knowledge and experience towards elevating the product experience and consistently raise the benchmark for Matillion Design
  • Introduce and scale design practices that drive quality and efficiency across the organisation

Along with the obvious UX necessities (user research, wireframing, prototyping, UI design, usability testing, etc.) as Senior Product Designer your skill set will also incorporate:

  • Converting insights and requirements derived from user research, business stakeholders and data analysis into design specifications with defined success metrics
  • Ability to think far beyond the user interface, seeing things from 10,000ft to 1ft (or 1px!)
  • Analytical viewpoint with a focus on learning, testing and improving
  • Fantastic communication abilities (interpersonal, verbal, written, whiteboard sketching!)
  • Confidence synthesising research, rationale and concepts into informative deliverables and engaging sessions for all levels of stakeholder attendance
  • Proficient and autonomous working either independently or collaboratively, effectively managing a range of stakeholders
  • Ability to elicit and receive feedback professionally as well as give detailed, constructive and actionable feedback to others
  • Highly purposeful prioritisation of time (as your most valuable resource) in sometimes ambiguous circumstances

What we are looking for

  • Portfolio demonstrating proficiency delivering software application UX
  • Minimum 3 years in versatile UX role(s) …or you’re really good
  • Strong knowledge of user-centred design, visual design, interaction design
  • Passion to stay at the forefront of design, technology and the data landscape
  • Ability to effectively communicate design decisions and concepts so they are understood by non-design roles
  • Experience in user research techniques, personas and user story creation
  • Have used and contributed to design systems
  • Proactive, inquisitive and highly collaborative nature
  • Strategic approach to problem solving
  • Have been involved in the end-to-end design process
  • Basic knowledge of responsive web design, HTML and CSS (no we don’t want you to code!)

Desirable

  • Experience of leading the design process and other designers
  • Experience in a highly iterative / agile environment
  • Designed for B2B experiences within enterprise organisations
  • Degree / similar in a design, psychology or computer science related subject

Personal Capabilities

  • Growth mindset
  • Uses own initiative
  • Managing stakeholders
  • Facilitation of workshops
  • Confident communicator
  • Strong team collaborator
