Your New Role...
We are hiring a Senior Vice President of Product Design to lead the design of our streaming products, including HBO Max, discovery+, our television everywhere products, and our new enhanced streaming product. This SVP will lead the product design of all customer experiences globally, including the customer user experience, customer journeys, visual design, product creative and copy, design prototyping, and underlying design systems. They will lead design across all digital platforms, including websites and app platforms such as Apple, Android, Amazon, Roku, Samsung, LG, and others. They will be a strategic partner to Warner Bros. Discovery Product, Engineering, Marketing, and overall Streaming leadership teams to build intuitive, engaging, and delightful experiences for customers globally.
This role will lead the vision, strategy, planning, and execution of product design to provide world class entertainment and sports streaming experiences that improve acquisition, engagement, retention, and satisfaction of customers. They will lead a design practice that starts with the customer and builds from there, and advocate for customer needs vigorously through the product development lifecycle. They will design innovative and intuitive experiences, implement scalable solutions, and ensure a world class end-to-end product experience. They will work with product and engineering leaders to prioritize, build, and enhance all customer journeys and features. They will establish operating processes to drive systematic design improvements to the products based on customer feedback, needs, and behavior.
An ideal candidate will have a missionary zeal for customer-centric design, and will be a leader who strives to deliver the best product experience for customers. This person will combine bold and creative design vision with data-driven decision making. They will have an insatiable curiosity, design and build for scale, and obsess about the customer. They will persistently investigate poor customer experiences to identify the root causes and determine how to improve the customer experience. They are a leader that the team loves to work with because they inspire, develop, and care for their team members. They build trust with people from all areas of the business and have a proven track record. This leader takes end-to-end ownership and consistently delivers results in a fast-paced environment.
Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Partner with senior product, business, engineering, content, and marketing leaders to determine the strategic goals, plans, and operating practices needed to design, build, and enhance world-class streaming products globally.
  • Establish a customer-centric global design vision for the streaming products that engages and delights customers through compelling and easy-to-use experiences, ensuring customer experiences that can be easily used by hundreds of millions of customers globally.
  • Lead the planning, creation, and execution of end-to-end design UX, visual design, and design prototyping for streaming experiences, including entertainment, sports, and other innovative use cases.
  • Partner with product and marketing leaders to design experiences that acquire, engage, retain, and monetize customers effectively.
  • Work closely with customer-centric product teams to create product experiences that are easy to use and compelling for customers.
  • Identify root causes of defects in the customers' experience and solve these root causes through design enhancements.
  • Leverage data and insights to determine enhancements throughout the end-to-end product experience.
  • Partner closely with Research teams to validate experiences with customers and gather customer feedback and insights throughout the design process.
  • Build a scalable team to design experiences across platforms, including mobile apps, tablets, web, connected TVs, and set top boxes, and adaptable for all countries globally.
  • Hire, manage, and develop design leaders and professionals, helping them enhance their skills and grow their careers.
  • Build an innovative, creative, and disciplined design team that builds trust, encourages collaboration, fosters a diverse and inclusive culture, maintains strong accountability, delivers results, increases employee engagement, and has fun.


Qualifications & Experience...

  • Proven experience in product design leadership in media, entertainment, technology, or relevant industries.
  • Extensive experience in managing teams to deliver compelling product design experiences, with responsibilities that include day-to-day management, professional development, hiring and retention, and coaching and mentoring.
  • Extensive experience in developing compelling consumer product experiences, including products that span multiple geographies and languages.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with leaders and peers to evaluate new ideas, discuss design and product concepts, create compelling product designs, implement new experiences, and make tradeoffs to remove roadblocks.
  • Expertise in product design, design prototyping, and product creative.
  • Experience implementing scalable design systems to drive efficient and consistent design standards at scale.
  • Experience leading and driving systematic improvements across design teams.
  • Experience building and leading diverse and inclusive teams across multiple work locations and functions.
  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills. Can communicate the results of your (and your team's) work clearly to your audience.
  • Strong perspective and demonstrated thought leadership on human-centered, effective design practices and systems.
  • Advanced degree in design or creative disciplines is a plus.

The Legal Bits...
In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. $305,887.00 - $568,077.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
