Chewy is dedicated to being the most trusted and convenient online destination for pet parents (and partners), everywhere. The Chewy Product Design and Research team embraces this vision, crafting experiences that aim to delight customers (and the businesses and veterinarians that support them) with unprecedented ease and convenience, empowering them to keep their pets happy and healthy. We are a hard-working, collaborative, and fun-loving team of designers, researchers and builders, on the lookout for creative and driven talent to join the pack.

We Are Seeking

We are seeking a Sr. Product Designer to play a hands-on role in realizing Chewy’s vision, driving the creation of innovative new products and services. As a Sr. Product Designer, you’ll be a key contributor in defining the User Experiences for Veterinarians and Pharmacists. You’ll have the opportunity to think and act big, exercising continuous innovation and a bias for action, coupled with thoughtful experimentation. The ideal candidate will be a systems-level design thinker with strong customer instincts and outstanding design intuition. Your primary goal will be to ensure an unparalleled user experience that enables our employees, businesses and pet health partners to accomplish their goals in the most elegant, efficient, and enjoyable way possible. To achieve this, you will be responsible for driving the design process and propelling teams to completion - working closely with our partners in research, product management and engineering to help define the future success of Chewy’s enterprise products.

What You’ll Do
  • Earn trust and collaborate with product managers, developers, content strategists, user researchers, and other designers to execute design concepts that deliver on brand goals, business goals, and are technically feasible to implement.

  • Act like an owner on the team to deliver work by leading innovative and holistic thinking across diverse products, platforms, and devices; drive the direction, style, and methodology of design and accessibility.

  • Put the Customers first, and utilize design thinking principles to work through all facets of the product design life cycle, from discover and concept ideation, through flows and wireframes, to full-fidelity prototype designs. Enabling you to build engaging user experiences for multiple user groups that solve business objectives with purpose and simplicity.

  • Think big, and champion cohesion and consistency in UX design that unites a growing family of Enterprise products, while continuing to nurture and evangelize a fervent culture of invention and innovation.

  • Deliver results, by presenting and articulating your design process, inspiration, and decisions to internal stakeholders including C-suite executives.

  • Embody Chewy’s culture and principles within the group while setting new standards in executional and operational excellence.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree related to, or within the design field.
  • 5 or more years of experience in User Experience Design that includes 2 or more years of leading large-scale initiatives at a product based organization.

  • Expertise in producing relevant deliverables including an online portfolio that demonstrates an unfailing advocacy for the user, highlighting detailed site maps, user flows/task flows, user journeys, page flows, taxonomies/IA, wireframes, annotations, and prototypes that represent interactions and recommendations, and shows us how you think.

  • A passion for building functional and engaging user experiences with a strong user-centered focus.

  • Exemplary analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Ample experience collaborating across multiple stakeholder groups, and balancing/negotiating priorities.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.

  • Strong bias for action including the ability to juggle multiple priorities and effectively deliver in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

  • Experience working in a complex environment, with a proven ability to consider the impact of their decisions, past singular products.

Preferred Qualifications
  • A passion for and the ability to develop and mentor other design talent as a leader on the team.

  • Prior experience designing large-scale enterprise software applications for multiple user-types.

  • Experience performing/gathering user research and utilizing user research techniques and best practices to drive design decisions.
