About Us:
At DreamBox, we believe all children can excel at learning, no matter where they start, where they live, or who they are. Along with district administrators, teachers, principals, and parents, we are dedicated to helping children realize their potential. Yet every child must be challenged, encouraged, and engaged in an individual way.
That’s why we developed our revolutionary Intelligent Adaptive Learning™ technology, and combined it with a rigorous curriculum and an engaging game-like environment, to change the learning paradigm. About the Role:
As a UX/UI Designer for Student Engagement at DreamBox Learning you will work with a team of Artists, Curriculum Designers (teachers), Product Managers, and Software Engineers to create engaging and interactive Learning Environments that make learning fun and motivational for millions of Kindergarten to 8th grade students. This role is involved in working with the team to gain a deep understanding of the learning process; broad awareness of platform design (i.e. game and/or educational platforms); and the ability to create beautiful, easy-to-use, and intuitive experiences that tailored for all ages.
The learning environments you design, along with the team, may contain gamification elements like virtual currencies, awards, badges, etc. These environments support learning and user agency – a concept that not only motivates students but allows them to report and take ownership in their learning. A strong sense of story and flow are required along with character development. It is our ongoing challenge to make learning relevant and relatable to every student.
Creating a fun and educational student experience is at the heart of how we are transforming math experiences for millions of kids. In order to meet this amazing challenge, it is critical that you have experience creating engaging, innovative, easy-to-use, and highly interactive interfaces that focus on user experience, usability and ultimately serve to educate students of all ages.
To be successful you will be, first and foremost, a strong experience designer with a background platform game or education design. You will work closely with a team to guide the design process and create a variety of intuitive and innovative engagement models that enhance and support learning for students of all ages. You will translate user needs and feedback into innovative designs and communicate design thinking with product management and development teams via flow charts, wireframes, and prototypes. In this role, you will need to have recent and extensive working experience with complex, modern and feature-rich web applications, and deep understanding of different interaction models and game mechanics.
We have a goal to make our product intuitive, educational, fun, and engaging. To accomplish this goal, you will act as a user advocate and work to evolve our lessons and student environments with new lessons, ongoing lesson improvements, and other features that affect the overall student experience.
