The Qualtrics XM Platform™ is a system of action that helps businesses to attract customers who stay longer and buy more, to engage and empower employees to do the best work of their lives, to develop breakthrough products people love, and to build a brand people can’t imagine living without.

Joining Qualtrics means becoming part of a team bold enough to chase breakthrough experiences - like building a technology that will be a force for good. A team committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion because of a conviction that every voice holds value, with a vision for representation that matches the world around us and inclusion that far exceeds it. You could belong to a team whose values center on transparency, being all in, having customer obsession, acting as one team, and operating with scrappiness. All so you can do the best work of your career.

We believe every interaction is an opportunity. Are we yours?

 The Challenge

As a UX Researcher at Qualtrics on the Experience Research Team you will drive the future of Qualtrics Experience Management products to deliver a best-in-class user experience that creates loyalty, value, and delight. You have a background in social sciences, psychology, or neuroscience and have conducted research. You have a solid foundation in experimental design and are interested in developing your research skills to understand the UX of our products, key user scenarios and business needs of our customers. You are interested in how people collect, monitor and share insights inside their organizations. You work cross-functionally with the disciplines responsible for product development -- data scientists, designers, product managers, and engineers to develop products that are elegant, easy-to-use, effective and successful.

What Success Looks Like in the Role

You have a natural curiosity and inspire those around you to ask questions, understand the customer and create enthusiasm for products and features. You demonstrate your research capabilities everyday by managing research projects and learning from your more Senior UX Research mentors. You are organized, collaborative, and a great communicator with a desire to grow your skills in UX Research. You design and manage usability tests on UserTesting.com and deliver insights about feature design, use, and ease-of-use. You want to support the team by maintaining our research panel, recruiting and scheduling participants for studies, providing research support in terms of note taking, synthesis of findings, analysis of results and report preparation. You are always looking for opportunities to hone and develop your own UX research skills by collaborating and being mentored by more senior members of the team. You are good at managing multiple projects and processes. You are the go-to person when people need to get things done quickly.

A Day in the Life

  • As the UX Researcher you are supporting the team with our research panel, recruiting, research support, analysis and reporting. You are designing, managing and synthesizing results from our UserTesting.com research studies. You are working closely with more experienced researchers as you learn and develop your UX research design skills. You speak the voice of what users want and help identify our product gaps.
  • You are a part of the product team and you collaborate with researchers, data scientists, designers, and product managers to identify customer perceptions about Qualtrics and existing products, define key use scenarios and collaborate to develop new or improved product concepts.
  • You are a valued member of the team providing both support for research activities and running your own studies. You are a team player who is valued for learning quickly, jumping in when needed, and preparing materials needed for research.

Your Background

Your background and research experience from college and beyond has provided you with the basic tools to understand the methodologies employed to understand human behavior. You are able to prepare materials and run research studies with guidance and support. You are very well organized, a good communicator, and collaborative by nature. You like to take on problems and find solutions. You value the importance of the customer and are always trying to help them have a better experience with the research process and Qualtrics’ products. You have designed and conducted research studies and literature reviews and are ready to apply your skills to UX. You like technology, think about ways to improve it, and are motivated by elegant, efficient designs and processes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Psychology, Social Science, Human-Centered Design, Human Factors or similar
  • 1+ years of research experience
  • Demonstrated end-to-end qualitative and quantitative research skills
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • High standards of detail, excellence, and professionalism
