Pivotal is seeking an Assembly and Test Technician to work with our small team of scientists and engineers to create our next-generation antennas and radios. The Technician will work closely with the team to assemble and prototype new systems. The candidate will both assemble systems in-house and coordinate with external partners to facilitate higher volume assembly requirements. The candidate will also work closely with our team of engineers to drive testing and verification systems for analog, digital, and RF components. Experience automating test and measurement through scripting is highly desired.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble prototype and low volume antennas, radios, and other PCB devices

•Draft/follow detailed instructions on parts order, BOM, assembly and test procedures

•Coordinate purchasing of part kits and fabrication/assembly of engineering builds with suppliers and contract manufacturers

• Perform quality checks on completed assemblies

•Construct electrical and mechanical prototypes and test fixtures

•Design and execute test procedures to characterize antenna assemblies

•Interpret test results and evaluate data with minimum oversight

•Provide hands-on job functional training to co-workers as needed

•Follow manufacturing best practices including ESD and FOD protection

Qualifications:

•2-year (trade school) / 4- year technical degree (electrical/electronics engineering degree preferred)

•5-7 years relevant work experience in soldering small (0402) and non-leaded components (QFN)

•Knowledge of analog and digital circuit testing and troubleshooting, and ability to learn quickly

•Experience with RF testing techniques and test equipment (power meter, spectrum analyzer, VNA)

•Prior experience in assembling antenna systems desired

•Experience with scripting and/or software languages such as C++,Python or MATLAB is a significant plus

•Qualifications such as IPC-J-STD-001 are a plus
